You're Invited: Dragon Dinner
Join us for our first annual Dragon Dinner on Wednesday, February 21st! Setup is from 5:45 to 6:00. Dinner is from 6:00 to 6:45, and game rooms will be available from 6:45 to 7:30. Feel free to bring and share a game your family plays.
How to Participate:
- Click HERE to sign up to bring a dish of cultural significance or just something your family likes. Bring a serving utensil.
- Share not just a meal but a piece of your heritage with your Stony Point community.
- You may include a brief note about your dish - its cultural background, significance, or any family traditions tied to it.
- Feel free to bring your recipe.
***You do not need to bring a dish to attend- all are welcome and we hope to see you there!
Tutors Needed
We are in need of volunteer tutors to work individually or in small groups with students in grades 3-5 on reading or math. Tutoring will run through February, March, and April. There is no need to be a certified teacher- we are just looking for adults in our community who have a passion for working with kids! All resources will be provided for you. If you are interested, please click HERE to complete the Google form to indicate your availability.
*Preferred availability would be Mondays through Thursdays 12:45-2:15 PM or Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2:45-4:00 PM, but please indicate any availability you have on the Google Form.
Schoolwide Spelling Bee
Girls On The Run Registration Open (Grades 3-5)
Girls On The Run integrates joyful physical activities, meaningful group discussions fostering life skills and critical thinking, and a dedicated emphasis on goal setting for a culminating 5K. Click HERE to view the flyer and see how to register your child!
Golden Apple Nominations
Nominations are now open through January 24, 2023 for this year's Golden Apple Awards, a program designed to honor outstanding teachers in public and private schools in Albemarle County and Charlottesville City. Each Golden Apple recipient will receive a $500 grant, which can be used for classroom materials or to support the recipient’s professional development.
