2. What is the difference between parent involvement and parent engagement?
What many may not know is that there is an important difference between parental involvement and parental engagement. An involved parent takes part in the activities already determined by the school. An engaged parent takes a step further, often becoming part of the school's decision-making process.
Examples:
Involved Parent - Assist with scheduled activities, volunteer to read, or offer suggestions for events, trips, or crafts.
Engaged Parent - Participate in play (games, dress up, tea party. etc) on their level and/or in the desired center.
3. What is the goal of parent engagement?🤗
The goal of parent and family engagement is to build strong and effective partnerships with families that can help children and families thrive. These partnerships are grounded in positive, ongoing, and goal-oriented relationships with families.
