LAW EASES TRANSITION FOR MILITARY AND THEIR FAMILIES
$1 MILLION FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECT
As a provider of affordable housing, support services, and meaningful community connections to low-income individuals and families, the Reformed Church of Highland Park Affordable Housing Corporation has made a profound impact. The nonprofit’s footprint will soon expand with the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs awarding $1 million from the National Housing Trust Fund for the creation of four rental units through the acquisition and rehabilitation of a property on North 4th Avenue in Highland Park. SOUTH PLAINFIELD UNVEILS RENOVATED AUDITORIUM
A ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the reopening of the newly renovated Joseph A. Mondoro Auditorium, which has been transformed into a state-of-the-art facility, was held at South Plainfield High School. The event culminated months of planning and skilled craftsmanship, resulting in the installation of a new sound system, curtain, video screen, carpeting, flooring, cushioned seats, lighting, and renovations to the stage, all fittingly dressed in the school’s official colors. Her legacy includes creating a sustainable infrastructure in town, taking multiple steps towards property tax stabilization, actively advancing downtown redevelopment, enhancing the quality of life of borough residents, and reorganizing the police department, fire department, and first aid squads.
