Principal's Message
It's hard to imagine, but we are already at the time of year to plan our fall teacher conferences. In order to schedule your conference, you will need to click HERE. This link will become active on Friday, November 10 at 4 PM and will remain open until Friday, November 17 at 4 PM. Next week's Week in Review and a Look Ahead will be published at 4PM to coincide with the opening of the sign-up link to help serve as a reminder to schedule your conferences.
Congratulations to our fall student-athletes for a successful season. The final write-up for the fall season is included below. Thank you to our student-athletes for representing MSE positively and our coaches and athletic department for their time and dedication to the student-athletes. Sign-ups for winter sports are due by November 8 and practices begin November 28. Please visit boyertownathletics.com or login to your student central/big teams account (if you registered for a fall sport) to sign up.
Thursday, November 9, will be an SSR schedule period 10 where 6th and 8th grade students will complete the annual PAYS survey with their homerooms. Please see the information below regarding our next dance on Friday, November 10. Any student who wishes to attend MUST purchase tickets during the lunch on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of this coming week. No tickets will be sold at the door!
7th Grade Ancient Egypt Day!
Our 7th graders had an exciting and worthwhile day on Tuesday in the planetarium diving deep into the study of ancient Egypt. Check out the pictures below of the self-made artifacts that our students created, as well as our 7th grade social studies teachers who led the learning and fun.
In addition to the hands-on social studies piece, the rest of the 7th grade core classes joined in to support this unit of study in their own classrooms. Below are a few pictures of the 7th grade science classes scanning QR codes throughout the hallways to connect the Egyptology focus of the day.
Chat with the Principals
On Thursday, November 9, at 9AM, we will host our second in-person and virtual "Chat with the Principals." Those who will be joining us in-person are asked to bring a valid ID between 8:45 and 9:00AM. Those who wish to join us virtually may do so by clicking HERE
MSE PE Stars for October
The MSE Phys Ed Department would like to recognize their PE Stars for the month of October. These students are shining examples of how students should conduct themselves while in PE class. They are always participating to their fullest, being kind and helpful to their classmates, and show a deep passion for physical fitness. Congratulations to Abby Henderson in 6th Grade, Jacob Clarke in 7th Grade, and Alexis Henderson in 8th Grade.

November Dance!
Student Council is hosting a Neon Dance on Friday, November 10th from 7-9 PM. The cost of the dance is $5. We will be following the regular school dress code, but we encourage students to dress in the “Neon” theme.
All students attending the dance MUST pre-pay for the dance during lunch. Students will not be permitted to pay when they get to the dance.
Students should present their student ID when paying as well as when entering the dance. Students will be able to pay for the dance during lunch on the following days:

Thursday, November 9th
Friday, November 10th
Students will be able to have their picture taken with their friends at the dance. Pictures cost $1 for each person who wants a copy of the picture.
Please refer to pages 46, 53, and 54 in the student handbook for attendance at extracurricular events and dance expectations.
All students should be dropped off at the back entrance by the gym. However, students will be dismissed out of all three entrances. When picking up students in multiple grade levels, please pick up at the highest grade level location.
8th grade will be picked up in the front loop.
7th grade will be picked up on the side tennis court lot.
6th grade will be picked up in the back by the gym.
Fall Sports Updates
Field Hockey
In their last game of the season on 10/27, a combined East field hockey team defeated Pottsgrove, 5 to 1. During the first half, the 8th grade scored 4 goals and 7th grade added 1 more in the second half.
The 8th grade field hockey team completed their season with 12 wins and 0 losses. Congratulations to team members Avery Burkhardt, Kassie Dulin, Erin Foraker, Rhian Harper, Anna John, Ella Lee, Makayla Piazza, Raelyn Ruth, Abby Sauers, Taylor Wilson and Emma Yankanich.
The 7th grade field hockey team completed their season with 7 wins, 2 losses and 3 ties. Congratulations to team members Gabby Carr, Keira Emerick, Darby Glennon, Rylan Hallman, Aislyn McAghon, Rosealee Rapp, Lucy Solick, and Addyson Vogels.
Football
8th grade- On 10/31, the Boyertown 8th Grade Football Team closed out the season with a heartbreaking 22-14 loss to Owen J. Roberts. The three headed ground & pound backfield was led by Jackson Koback, CJ Soto, and Jackson DiGrazia. Opening up holes for the backs were Griffin Kaczerski, Connor Millard, Will Overton, Landon Smith, Dean Mitchell, and Andrew Rizzo. Jackson Koback scored two touchdowns and converted a two-point conversion in the game. Roman Kerkusz threw a touchdown pass to Koback for the team's second score, while Andrew Rizzo had two big receptions for first downs to extend drives in the game. Defensively, Griffin Kaczerski and Dean Mitchell combined for three tackles for a loss. On Special Teams, Chase Dallas recovered an onside kick by Roman Kerkusz late in the game. Lastly, the coaching staff would like to thank all the players and managers for their hard work and dedication throughout the season. Continue to be the best you in all that you do!
7th grade- On 10/26, 7th grade football lost 16 to 14 despite strong team effort. Jackson Rose ran for a TD and passed to Austin Barcoski for another. Ryan Weaver helped lead the defense with 2 interceptions.
On 11/1, the seventh grade football team defeated Upper Merion 29 to 14. Strong showing from the offensive line helping Jackson Rose score 3 TDs and Austin Barcoski added another. Connor Ward, Isaac Stair, and Duse Njikam led the defense.
The Bears finish the season with a 4-2 record.
Turkey Day Food Drive
Student Council will be hosting the Turkey Day Food Drive from November 6 - November 15. All items will be donated to Preston’s Pantry at Boyertown Area Multi-Service. See the image below for suggested items that are most needed at Preston’s Pantry. Students should bring donations to the library and place them in teachers’ boxes. The teacher with the most items in his/her box will have to wear a turkey costume on the last day of school before Thanksgiving break!
Library Updates
Thank you to Brakeman’s Cafe!
In September and October Brakeman’s Cafe donated a dollar from each li-BEAR-ian latte purchase to one of the middle school libraries. There were 213 votes for West and 155 votes for East. Our library plans to buy more Rubik’s Cubes so that students can build larger, more complex mosaics. We appreciate this generous gift!
Bi-Annual PAYS Survey
On Thursday, November 9, our 6th and 8th graders will be participating in the bi-annual PAYS survey. This survey provides anonymous valuable information in our efforts to promote and protect healthy and safe choices of our students.
