Semester exams will end on Tuesday, December 21. Our students will be on winter break from December 22 through January 5, 2022. Here are a few dates and reminders for your calendar:

January 6, 2022—Last day of first semester

January 7, 2022—First day of second semester; early release day

Second semester schedules are available now on FOCUS for your reference. Students will begin their second semester schedules on Friday, January 7.

Graduation Date has been set!

The completed application is due NO LATER THAN January 21, 2022.

In order to be eligible for special recognition at graduation, students must meet the following criteria:

• Complete a minimum of six (6) full-year AP courses (totaling six credits)

OR

• Complete a combination of full-year courses and semester courses totaling six credits.

AND

The courses must be chosen from at least three different subject areas of the six subject areas indicated on the reverse side of the application.

AND

Earn a score of 3 or higher on each of the exams for the courses selected.

Online, Face-to-Face, and Hybrid start on the same day.

The student incentive program is going great! Teachers and staff give out tickets to students that have done something the exemplifies what being a Mel High Bulldog is all about!

In addition to the items we have for them, such as t-shirts and water bottles, they are loving the gift card choices. We are running low on the initial donation of cards (Thank you!!) and would really appreciate donations to help keep our gift card option available. They seem especially fond of Starbucks and Dunkin' cards.

Donations can be dropped off in the main office. Please label the items: Attention – Mrs. Kilmer

Families can also set up an online lunch account through the district system. Go to www.mypaymentsplus.com to create your account and add money for your student to use in our cafeteria. If you already have an account you do not need to create another one for this year.

Stay home if you are sick: We ask our families to keep children home if they exhibit any Covid-19 symptoms for the safety of our students and staff. It is the most important thing you can do to help us mitigate the spread of Covid-19 on our campus.

What do I do if someone in my home contracts the Covid-19 virus? Please call the principal at 321-952-5880 x24503 if your student, or someone living in your home, contracts the Covid-19 virus. If you are going to quarantine your student, we will help you determine the correct dates for quarantine.

Face coverings: Masks are strongly recommended, but are not required for students in grades 7-12, employees, guests, volunteers, and vendors.

Clinic Policy: During the pandemic, any student sent home from our school clinic with Covid-19 related symptoms must quarantine for 10 calendar days unless (1) the student receives a negative Covid-19 test and brings the printed result to the school nurse or, (2) the student's family physician diagnoses the student's condition as something other than Covid-19 and writes a note allowing the student to return to school.
