🎆January Recap🎆
Athletic Achievements
We are proud to acknowledge PPHS student athletes who achieve success in their respective competitions. Our Dance team continues to dance to first place victories. They earned various first place finishes in their January competitions. Our wrestling team has also been ferocious on the mat as they brought home the honor of Group A Public Team Champs and went 3-0 in the tri-meet at Glen Rock High School. Our Girls basketball team has also performed well, staying close in many of the games and grinding out some tough wins against local rivals. Swim team is making a splash, with our girls team earning the top spot of league champs in an undefeated season. Our boys team also has the chance at top spot in their upcoming meet. Keep up the hard work! You make PPHS proud!
Academic Achievement
The art pictured above belongs to Mrs. Sterni’s AP Art Studio students. Students presented their pieces to the class, sharing their inspiration and explanation of the choices they made. Students then provided constructive feedback and were able to tweak their artwork before final submission. It was a fantastic collaborative process which mirrored life itself! We, like their art, are never finished products. We are art in the making, continuously changing and improving! Also pictured above are students from Ms. Graf and Ms. Elmohdli’s Career Fair. Students took center stage as they shared their research on their chosen career. Their futures are bright! Last but certainly not least is our Korean American Writers Association contest winners led by Mrs. Cho! The top three students earned a scholarship award! The last two pictures contain the winners of the Brownie Bake Off in Mrs. Planker's foods 1 class! They were voted best brownie by their fellow classmates and teachers.
Tiger Pride
Our tiger pride is on full display with the addition of these two updated signs. The first is a bulletin board on our third floor that was decorated by the Science duo: Ms. Lewis and Mrs. Conoscenti. The second is our display in the front of the school which was refurbished by Mrs. Sterni. Thank you for volunteering your time to beautify PPHS!
Teacher Feature
Mrs. Kilmurray
Congrats to Mrs. Kilmurray, CHPE teacher and track coach, who won 1st place in her age group at the USATF-NJ Long Distance Running Grand Prix.
Dr. Zarro
Our very own Dr. Zarro, the maestro of percussion, has just been invited to join the prestigious league of artists at Grover Pro Percussion. Grover is one of the world's largest manufacturers of percussion instruments for school, universities, and professionals alike. PPHS is proud of you!
