MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Atkinson Community,
Next week is the monthly PTA meeting, and I have a conflict so I can't make the meeting. Instead, I'm going to host a Principal Q&A and Teacher Strike Update from 6–6:30 p.m. directly before the PTA meeting next week on Monday, November 13. The Zoom link will be the same as the PTA meeting:
- Meeting ID: 826 3970 7216
- Passcode: 152661
If there is still no school by the end of next week, I will host the Principal Coffees (English on Thursday and Spanish on Friday) virtually.
We sincerely hope you are all safe and well, and we hope to see you again soon.

RUBY BRIDGES WALK TO SCHOOL DAY — NOVEMBER 14
Six-year-old Ruby Bridges stepped into the history books on November 14, 1960, when she became one of the first students to integrate William Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans, LA, becoming a national icon for the civil rights movement. Today, her story continues to inspire the next generation of leaders to end racism together one step at a time. Since 2018, students have celebrated Ruby’s courage by walking to school and recognizing her contributions to the civil rights movement. Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day is on November 14, celebrating the courage and resilience of Ruby Bridges as a trailblazer in the fight for desegregation.
