Possible Remote Learning on Monday
Greetings Cohasset Families,
There is a plowable snow event scheduled to begin this morning and last into the late evening hours. Although our plan tomorrow (Monday, February 8, 2021) is to stick with our regular schedule, in the event that the storm dictates that we will not be able to have in-person school tomorrow, we will implement a full-remote day, unless there are wide-spread power issues that make that impossible. Because of the forecasted timing of the storm, it is unlikely I will be able to make a determination tonight. If there is a need to move to full-remote for Monday, I will most likely be notifying families in the morning, and teachers will communicate the schedule for the day after my announcement to families. Please stay safe in the storm.
Sincerely,
Patrick Sullivan, Ed.D.
Superintendent

- Students are expected to log in via Zoom to each class on time (once again, please see schedule) as attendance will be taken
- During lunch and utility period, students do not have to log into to their utility period. Students are encouraged to log off their computer, eat a nutritious lunch, and try to get some exercise or, at least some movement around the house if it's too cold to go outside.

Congratulations to CMS 2021 Project 351 Ambassador
Project 351 engages eighth grade Ambassadors from each of the 351 cities and towns in Massachusetts in a 12-month program of service learning, leadership development, and civic engagement. Ambassadors are diverse in all ways but one -- they share Dr. King’s criteria for a life dedicated to service: “a heart full with grace and a soul generated by love."
Hometown educators select each class of eighth grade Ambassadors. Educators select Ambassadors who have demonstrated an exemplary ethic of service and the values of kindness, compassion, humility, and gratitude. We place a special premium on unsung heroes and quiet leaders, and the rich diversity of our Commonwealth.
Because the selection process is not an open application, the confidential and blind nomination process helps promote the ideals of humility and inclusivity, which enhance the Project 351 community with unique diversity and a common sense of mission.
Our Project 351 Ambassador will develop a community service project in the upcoming months to benefit our school and/or our town. The Project 351 Ambassadorship promotes leadership, creativity, communication, and a memorable experience serving others.
CMS Student Activities Welcomes New Advisors!
Ms. Jewell (Grade 7 Science) and Mrs. Ryan (Grade 7 Social Studies and Grade 6 Seminar) will be co-advisors to our Student Council and Ms. Bracchi (Grade 8 Special Education) is our new School Yearbook advisor.
We look forward to the great ideas and excitement they will bring to these activities!
Managing Stress: CMS Supports the Whole-Child
Chinese philosopher Sun Tzu observed "In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity."
These are certainly difficult times and many parents and families are experiencing great stress. Our ability to cope is regularly challenged and, understandably, there may be times when individuals can no longer manage their emotions. It is important to know where to turn when we reach that point.
To help our families, we share this contact list of support providers--Mental Health and Crisis Contacts These support providers offer great opportunities to help receive help when those we love are struggling to manage.
