Attendance Matters
Research shows that missing 10 percent of school, or about 18 days, negatively affects a student's academic performance. These habits are building blocks for academic achievement and personal growth, setting the stage for a bright future. Unless your child is sick, we expect your child to attend school every day.

iReady Diagnostic is Underway!
Please read below for some information about our diagnostic assessment process:
What is a “diagnostic assessment”
A diagnostic assessment is a form of pre-assessment where teachers can evaluate students' strengths, weaknesses, knowledge, and skills before instruction. Teachers utilize the diagnostic assessment results to plan instruction for the whole class, small groups, and individual students.
iReady Diagnostic
The i-Ready Diagnostic adaptive assessment adjusts questions to suit your student’s needs. Each item a student sees is individualized based on their answer to the previous question. For example, a series of correct answers will result in slightly harder questions, while a series of incorrect answers will yield slightly easier questions. This is not to give your student a score or grade but to determine how best to support your student’s learning. Diagnostic reports are shared with parents after the administration window closes.
i-Ready Personalized Instruction
The personalized, online iReady lessons that all MSD students access are not the same as the diagnostic. These lessons are connected to your child’s diagnostic assessment results but are meant to provide students with skill and content practice based on their individual levels and needs. These lessons are fun and interactive to keep your students engaged as they learn and allow for self-paced learning and practice to complement face-to-face instruction provided by your child’s teacher.
Using the diagnostic assessment to inform high-quality face-to-face teacher instruction and individual student practice, we provide a multifaceted approach to accelerating student learning. Our teacher teams and administrators carefully review results and data after each diagnostic assessment window to ensure that the needs of students who are showing strong progress and those who are showing slower progress are being met.
Please get in touch with your child’s teacher or me if you have any questions or want additional information.
According to FARE, an allergic reaction may be caused by several different allergens. They’re generally broken down into three categories:
Ingested allergies are caused when an offending allergen is eaten.
Contact allergies occur when a substance such as a hair dye or detergent comes in contact with a person’s skin.
Inhaled allergies are the most common type of allergy. They’re caused when someone breathes in an allergen such as pollen or animal dander. https://www.foodallergy.org/living-food-allergies/food-allergy-essentials/back-school-resource-hub
