San Mateo County Libraries will be visiting classrooms the following week March 13-17 to distribute cards, and talk about all the services the library provides.
February is Black History Month!
February in the U.S. is Black History Month, a celebration that pays tribute to the contributions, achievements, and impact of Black heritage and culture!
Please check out the display on the second floor by room 21. We invite students, teachers and staff to learn more about the achievements of notable black figures and see how they have helped shape American history!
March: Women's History Month
Every March, we celebrate Women's History Month to remind ourselves of the accomplishments of women throughout the years to our culture and society. From science to politics, it's is a chance to reflect on the trailblazing women who lead the way for change.
Keep an eye out for the new display that will take over on the second floor by room 21!

Free College for San Mateo Residents!
There are no minimum or maximum units required. Depending on documented financial need, students may also be exempted for paying the student body fee, student representation fee, student union fee, inclusive access fee(s), and materials fees associated with the course.
If you are not a San Mateo County resident, you may still be eligible for the Promise Scholars Program. You may also qualify for other free services such as tutoring, transportation, health services, and groceries.

OYE (Orgullo y Educación) Latinx Youth Conference
11th Annual OYE (Orgullo y Educación) Latinx Youth Conference which will be held on Saturday, March 25th, 2023 at Cañada College.
OYE provides opportunities for 450 local teens and young adults and their parents to explore and express Latinx culture and identity and engage in finding tools to overcome challenges, pathways to the future, and strategies to strengthen our communities. It’s a great place where the community comes together to support our youth.This year the theme for the conference is Honoring our Roots and Launching into the Future.

Business Planning 101
This is a Step-by-Step program co-sponsored by Generations United, Renaissance Center and Marketea. This class is 12 sessions long and on Thursday nights from February 21-May 16, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. These sessions will be conducted entirely in Spanish. Caltrain Go Pass
The Caltrain Go Pass provides free train trips on Caltrain between any zone at any time. Approved applicants will receive a special Clipper Card loaded with the Go Pass. This card must be used to tag on and off at the Caltrain Stations for valid use.
Go Passes are valid until 12/31/23 with limited supply.

Federal Disaster Assistance
Homeowners and renters in San Mateo County with damage or losses due to the series of New Year's storms can apply for federal disaster assistance.
Disaster assistance may include grants to help pay for temporary housing and essential home repairs, as well as other serious disaster-related needs such as medical and dental expenses, transportation, child care and moving and storage expenses.

Low and mid income San Mateo County residents or SMMC patients can apply for the Health Coverage Unit. Application assistance is available for both in person and phone appointments.
