Principal's Message
Hello Pride,
Welcome to Homecoming week!!
If you have not already please encourage your student to participate in the spirit days, attend the events, the football game and the dance. They may or may not remember how to diagram a sentence or find the length of the hypotenuse in an isosceles triangle. They will remember the moments they spend with there friends at events like these.
We are coming up on the end of the quarter. Please make sure your students know that if their teacher accepts late work, make up work or do-overs, they need to get it done by next Friday, September 23rd or make other arrangements with their teacher. Quarter grades will be posted on September 30th. We will then be on a two week fall break. Students will return to school on October 17th.
If your student was struggling at the last grade check, you may have received an invitation from the district to attend the intercession recovery program at Gilbert High. I cannot stress enough how important this is for students who are struggling, particularly freshman. Please if you were invited make arrangements for your student to be able to attend.
This is one of those things that I know may effect your family vacation or maybe your student just doesn't want to go. I know how difficult that fight can be and what a pain it is to argue with a teenager. However once you get them going and on the right track, it should be one of those things where they realize how much of a benefit it is. It's like working out, the first few times it's hard to make yourself go and it hurts the next few days. Once you get into the routine and start seeing results, you cannot imagine not doing it.
Have a great week and GoCats!!

We are so grateful at Islands to Ms. Ubrig and your wonderful choir for joining us today for our 9/11 ceremony. Your students were very inspirational to ours and Ms Ubrig is an awesome collaborator to make an event where HS students and Elementary students have the opportunity to make music together. Today was very powerful for all who were in attendance. Here are a few photos from the day. Kudos to you and your team!
