10/29/23-SMCPS STEAM Festival :10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds. Admission is free and open to the public. Wrap up the fall festival season with a day of learning, food trucks, and STEAM-related fun!

parent pick up and drop off
Please be aware that there are many safety issues at work during car rider drop off each morning and car rider pick up in the afternoon.
please stay in line the entire time you are dropping off and picking up, all the way up to exiting the parking lot onto Millstone Landing Road.
Do not pass other cars unless directed by staff members to do so.
Make sure to pull fully forward and follow the direction of staff members as the line moves.
please make sure your vehicle is in PARK when students are entering or exiting your vehicle - this is for their safety as well as the staff members assisting in the drop-off line.
In the afternoon please make sure you have your numbered car hanger.
If you forget it you will be asked to exit the line and go to the main office to sign out your children.
Our number one goal is to make sure everyone arrives and leaves school safely. Thank you for helping us achieve this goal!

- The 2023-2024 Amended SMCPS Calendar is posted at www.smcps.org/calendar. The amended calendar, approved by the Board of Education on September 13, 2023, notes that Pre-K students will attend on two-hour early dismissal days. Please see the calendar for details.

Nurse Corner
Vision/Hearing Screenings will begin in October. All new students to the county and All 1st-grade students will be screened.
Please see Student Handbook Page 15 for more information.
Students with medications that need to be in the health room for the school year, may be dropped off at Nurse Lasher, during this time.
Please note, that all medications must have a signed order by their Doctor's office or they cannot be accepted.

HOW TO GET STARTED:

- Click the Sign Up button
- Enter school code (86563) and click “Next” followed by “Confirm”
- Complete the “User Profile” box
- Under “My Students,” click “Add.” Enter your child’s last name and student ID number
- Once you confirm your information, you’re ready to begin using Here Comes the Bus!
