Spotlight on Fifth Grade!
Spotlight on Media!
Students have been busy in the media center!
We enjoyed learning about NASA’s landing of the Perseverance Rover along with the Helicopter Ingenuity on Mars. Students used Legos, K’Nex, a Code and Go Robot Mouse, NASA’s website, and books from our media center to engineer, design, experiment, create, code, and read as they learned more about this amazing accomplishment.
We have also been enjoying National Reading Month during March by reading across America with great books with settings in the different regions of America. The read alouds of the books have been followed with coding activities using the Kodable app on ipads and connected critical and creative thinking activities with Legos and K’Nex.
Students also celebrated National Reading Month by choosing books to “read around the campfire” and add to their home libraries. These books were generously donated by Wrightsboro United Methodist Church.
Through these opportunities students are learning more about themselves as readers and as innovators!
