Supervision For Families Who Need Daycare Prior to 9:45:
Late start Wednesday supervision will be available for students who require morning supervision to attend school that day. To ensure safe and consistent programming, students will need to be dropped off no earlier than 7:45am. Transportation will be provided for both normal and late start arrivals, and breakfast will be served for students at 7:45AM. This time is designed for teacher professional development and collaboration; therefore, teachers will be unavailable to assist students with classwork.

Students will be provided breakfast and transportation to school. Students will be supervised and provided opportunities for non-instructional play time (activities) and time for homework.
Schedule:
7:45-8:15 - Outside/Breakfast
8:15-8:45 - Breakfast/Outside
8:45-9:15 - Activity 1
9:15-9:45 - Activity 2
9:45-10:00 - Transition to classroom/school day
Buses:
The bus will run twice on these mornings. The first route is for families who have no supervision options during this late start. This bus runs at the usual morning times. The second route will run exactly, two hours later than your usual pickup time (at your regular pick up locations) to bring children to school for our 10:00 start.
What Staff is Doing Between 7 - 10:00 am
Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). Below are a quick definition of how these meetings help your child grow. We look forward to reporting out to you on our progress meeting our building wide goals!
PLC: 8 - 8:45: Instructional Teams meet to plan supports for students who are not, are, or are exceeding meeting grade level expectations.
MTSS: 9:00 - 10:00: Instructional Teams Teams meet to review student data and find solutions to instructional challenges and opportunities to build on.
UPE Children Celebrate We Before Me!
We are off to one of the warmest, most wonderful school starts ever! It is a joy to have the children at school - they are so eager to learn, play, and make new friends! Right away our children have buckled down into deep, close reading, writing, mathematics, art, music, thinking and...caring for each other! I’ve noticed the “shining eyes” of our staff as they look at their classes and our community’s children in the hallways, lunchroom, classrooms, and play areas. It fills my heart that their hearts are so full with the joy of serving our children!
This week, we launched our Daily Kindness Celebration - throughout the day, any child or adult can recognize anyone with our “You Are So Cool” forms in the hallway for random acts of kindness. Each day, we’ll read selected ones on the announcements and send them home to you so you can continue to celebrate your child’s caring for other people. A huge thank you to our paraeducator, Jen House and our Counselor, Stephanie Wilson, for spearheading this great initiative building wide!
We love all the ways our Ute Pass Children just know how to put “we” before “me.” Our children are the ultimate models for how any high-functioning group of human beings can work and learn joyfully together.
