We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Father Doyle Families,
While these remain challenging times amidst the ongoing pandemic (please note the latest updated guidance shared via email this week), there is also much to be grateful for here at Father Doyle. This week, our walk-a-thon fundraiser continues to make exceptional progress, with proceeds benefiting student needs including updating textbooks, academic programs, and classroom furniture. Please know there's still time to donate, and we're aiming for 100% participation from our student body!
In addition, in alignment with our 2021-2022 school year goals, we continue to expand our extra-curricular options. This week we announced two new after school programs through our partnership with SPARK Business Academy - My 1st Hot Cocoa Stand for students in grades K-2, and Bulls and Bears for students in grades 3-5. See the linked flyers for more details, including registration links! Programs begin the week of October 18th.
Also, as mentioned in last week's Newsletter, preparations are underway for another great community event here at Father Doyle School and Saints John and Paul Parish. The Parish's 64th Annual Snowflake Bazaar is Saturday October 23 from 9am to 5pm and Sunday October 24 from 9am to 1pm in the Parish Hall. Please see the flyer under "Academic Calendar and Other Documents" for more information.
Interested in volunteering to support the Bazaar? We're looking for school volunteers to assist at the outdoor Twinkle Town childcare center. Please complete the Google Form here to register to volunteer. The Bazaar is the parish's biggest fundraiser of the year, a local tradition since the late 1950s, and a great community building event, please help us make it a success!
Finally, Coffee with the Principal is returning! All parents are invited to coffee and pastries with Mr. Peloquin on Wednesday, October 13th from 7:30am-8:00am. Stop by for a morning pick-me-up and conversation about the school year. Morning care will be offered at no additional cost for those attending. Please note, you must RSVP to attend by clicking here. Please RSVP no later than Monday, October 11th.
Please be sure to read the additional information and announcements below:
Parent Teacher Conferences - October 14th and 15th
Scheduling forms for parent-teacher conferences were sent home via email and hard copy on Wednesday. If you did not receive these forms, you can find the PK-5 sign up form here and the 6-8 sign up form here.
Please note that forms are due back no later than Friday, October 8th.
FJVD Flu Clinic - Thursday, October 14th, 3-5pm
Families are invited to join us for our Annual Flu Clinic after school on Thursday, October 14th from 3pm-5pm in the school gym. Flu clinic appointment times are flexible, so you can attend Parent Teacher Conferences and receive your annual flu vaccination all in the same afternoon! See the flyer here for more information. Please register online prior to the clinic. Thank you!
PK Arrival Procedures
We are happy to invite our pre-kindergarten families to drop-off their students at the classroom door between 7:40am and 8:00am. Please exit through the main entrance, not through the side door. If you are arriving later than 8am, please use the main entrance to the school. School staff will walk your child to their classroom if arriving after 8am, as students from across the grade levels are utilizing the hallways during that time.
Cold-Weather Uniform Options from Squad Locker
We're pleased to continue to offer cold-weather uniform options through Squad Locker, including sweatshirts, quarter-zips, and other items. All options under "Essential Gear" are uniform approved for the 2021-2022 school year. You can place your order by following the link here. Please note, some items are on back-order due to supply chain issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Used Uniform Collection
Do you have gently used uniforms you would be willing to donate to the school? Mrs. Jarvis is still accepting gently used uniforms including polos, pants/shorts, gym shirts, and all black shoes. You can drop off any uniform supplies in the main office. Please email Mrs. Jarvis with any questions. Your donations go directly to those students unable to procure uniforms. Thank you for your support!
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! Go Saints!
Sincerely,
Mr. Peloquin

Aluminum Can Tab Collection
What: Aluminum can tabs are being collected
Why: To support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence
How can you help? Save can tabs and send them in to Mr. Godin’s room.
Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This provides new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
