Did you know that Each year, only 161 students are named U.S. Presidential Scholars?
"The United States Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964, by Executive Order of the President, to recognize and honor some of our Nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors. The Scholars represent excellence in education and the promise of greatness in our upcoming youth." (https://www2.ed.gov/programs/psp/about.html)

In what ways has your Breakthrough experience contributed to your College Bound Journey?
"Breakthrough contributed heavily to my college process. For example, being able to take free SAT prep classes through the College Bound Program was very helpful in lowering my stress and improving my score. In addition, I took multiple prep classes in the summer which helped me prepare for my rigorous course schedule this year."
What does Breakthrough mean to you?
"To me, Breakthrough means family. I've had the pleasure to build relationships with wonderful people, who helped me navigate my way through middle and high school to get to college. It’s an incredible thing to have a support system as strong as Breakthrough and it really has made all the difference in my life. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to experience being a part of the Breakthrough community, and will never forget all that I have learned."
