Seniors defeat faculty and staff at the HVJ Senior Faculty/Staff basketball game! Coach Gilmore-Evans will need to strategize for next year!
HVJ Inspiration Day! HVJ teachers were asked to select one student and write a "thank you" to that student expressing how that student inspires them. Mayor VanJohnson served as a guest speaker for the event. Students were treated to a reception after the ceremony! Thank you to Mrs. McNeil, Guidance Secretary, for designing the Inspiration stationary!

News from Coach Ballance and FCCLA
Waffle House Regional VP, Regional Manager, and Regional Recruiting Director came to speak with classes about current job availability within the company and also taught the students about the difference in take home pay between fast food restaurants and serving positions in sit down restaurants.

Thank you to our Fine Arts Department - Mrs. Baker-Banks, Mrs. Duncan, Mr. Lewis and Mr. Leggett for an outstanding Spring Fine Arts Show!
Chorus had the chance to welcome Season 12 American Idol winner Candice Glover to Jenkins! She was accompanied by her band mate Willie Jones on piano. We had a great block where we shared songs with her, she shared songs with us, and we got to hear her wonderful story about how she got to the position she's in! Thank you Mr. Leggett for organizing this event!
