Bonsall Bear News
Week of February 22, 2021
Dear BES Families,
I hope this note finds you recharged and ready to tackle the remainder of the month of February. It is imperative that you fill out the health survey form, particularly after a week off when activities may have involved spending time with people and going places that are not part of your typical routine. Thank you for your cooperation when filling out the daily health assessment for your students. That data is imperative and helps us inform our decisions regarding in-person learning and the health and safety of our students and staff members. Please continue to fill that form out daily.
Although students remain distance learning, please continue to monitor your child's health each morning by filling out the mandatory daily health form that is sent via Aeries each morning. You only need to fill it out on the days your child attends school. The SDCOE COVID-19 Decision Tree has recently been updated, you can find the link below. Keep your child home if they exhibit any of the following symptoms found HERE on the SDCOE COVID-19 Decision Tree. If they exhibit any of these symptoms, they must stay home for ten days, with no symptoms prior to returning to school. Your child can return prior to the ten days with a negative COVID-19 test. Teachers will support student learning by having students who are at home sick utilize the Google classroom and Zoom sessions for their school work. If you have questions regarding symptoms, please call the office.
Thank you to those of you who reached out over the break regarding our fire alarms on campus. I was in touch with our maintenance and operations team as they worked with our alarm company to tackle the problem. My apologies for any disturbances the alarms caused.
Warmly,
Allison Fortney

Rainy Day Information
While the rain is much needed, it can cause havoc during school drop off and pick up - bring your grace and flexibility with you! Please send your child prepared for the rain!
Please read the following information carefully. In order to prevent gathering and in an attempt to keep the students as dry as possible, pick up is a little different.
- Drop off will remain the same in the mornings. We will have tents set up when you drop your child off in order to take temperatures and (hopefully) stay dry.
- For pick up, please put your student's name(s) on a piece of paper in the passenger side window. We will have staff members outside calling into the office with names when parents pull up to get their child.
- The office will then call your child over the intercom to go their pick up area. Please talk to your child about which pick up area you will be in to avoid any confusion.
- As a reminder, students can all be dropped off and picked up at the youngest child's drop off location. Grades TK-K are assigned to the kinder playground, grades 1-2 specified area is in front of the main office and grades 3-5 assigned area is the district office parking lot.
Thank you for your cooperation and support!
Mindfulness Activity
In today’s rush, we all think too much—seek too much—want too much—and forget about the joy of just being.
