Weekly Bulletin - September 10, 2023
LEADERSHIP MESSAGE
Welcome back to another school year! Our staggered start days were very beneficial in getting our year up and going and we got through our first full 2 days on Thursday/Friday. Our students did very well and it's great to have them all back in the building. Administration led staff and students through MS and HS assemblies on Thursday. Our faith theme was introduced and several components of OLMP school life and expectations were covered. We will do our best to keep you updated on any significant changes throughout the year. Your child's teacher will be a great support for questions as well. Please don't hesitate to reach out with questions of clarification.

DEMOGRAPHIC CONFIRMATION & YEARLY CONSENT FORMS
Dear Parents:
Please take a moment and log into PowerSchool and complete your child’s EICS Demographic Validation Form for the year 2023 - 2024.
Alberta Education requires that we obtain a detailed update of student demographics on an annual basis. Funding they provide for your child’s education is conditional to us receiving these updates and making them part of the student’s record.
You can perform the following steps to access, review and submit the form:
1) Log into PowerSchool at https://powerschool.eics.ab.ca
2) For each of your students, complete any forms which have been assigned to them.
We would like to thank you in advance for completing these forms.

MARMOT BASIN SKI TRIP 2023
WELCOME BACK!!
WELCOME TO OLMP LETTER FOR PARENTS
Please read through the Welcome to OLMP Package for Parents 2023-2024 to find many of these answers. Our weekly newsletter is our prime communication with parents as a school.
For specific inquiries regarding your child, please contact their teacher directly.
2023 - 2024 TRANSPORTATION
ALL eligible riders will need to re-register for this school year.
Please register by using the online Transportation Registration form located on the BRSD website: https://www.brsd.ab.ca/families/transportation/registration
NO PICK-UP/DROP-OFF FROM STAFF PARKING LOT OR BUS LANE
Dear Parents,
Please make alternate plans for a pick-up/drop-off location as our staff parking lot is no longer available as an option. This area has become far too congested in the past and is an extreme OH & S concern.
*PLEASE STAY CLEAR OF BUS LANES AT THE BEGINNING AND END OF OUR DAY*
Please follow the flow of traffic in the student parking lot on the south side of our building. You will notice that there is no longer a "turn left" option (right turns only) when you exit the parking lot.
Alternatively, please also look at streets/locations other than the alleys that are close to our school where students can safely access our school site.
While we understand that this takes away some convenience, we are concerned about the safety of your children.
Thank you for you attention to this.

Families that need financial assistance can apply for our fee waiver program; the deadline to apply is December 11, 2023.
BACK TO SCHOOL LETTER FROM ALBERTA EDUCATION
Education Minister Demetrios Nicolaides has asked all school districts to share his Back to School letter with staff and parents, which is available in English and French. To better understand how this year's provincial budget has impacted our school district, please visit the Trustee Advocacy page on our website. This page highlights our four key priorities as we continue to engage our elected officials.
