BORMAN BLAST
OCTOBER FAMILY NEWSLETTER
What's Been Happening?
Second quarter is really busy with lots of classroom and school activities. With all the excitement, we want to encourage students to continue to make good choices in behavior and stay focused on their academics. We will work hard and have a lot of fun too.
We will be celebrating students that have been passing the Principal's Challenge (math facts challenges in each grade level), and students that are proficient and highly proficient on the first quarter benchmarks(grades 2-8). K-1 will be celebrating growth in classrooms as well.
In October, we also celebrate the second half of Hispanic Heritage Month.(9/15-10/15). Students have been learning about the positive contributions of Hispanics and Latinos to our community and country!
Fire Prevention week is 10/08-10/14, but this is also the same week we have off for Fall Break. We will have some activities for our students the week after. Please look out for community events from DM involving their fire department.

Please do not park in the staff parking lot. Teachers often arrive at 8:00 and spots have been filled not allowing them to park. Please use the dirt area in front of the lot and across the street. Please drive slowly near the school and in the front pick-up loop as well.
CAMPUS SECURITY
From the Health Office
Hello parents,
Just a quick reminder, it is the law in Arizona that all students attending public schools have to be fully vaccinated and have to stay up-to-date on their vaccinations. When your student turns 11 years old, two vaccines come due, the Tdap Booster and the Meningococcal (MCV) vaccine. The Arizona Health Department states that students that are not compliant should be excluded from school until proof of compliance is turned into the school.
If you have any questions, you can call us during school hours.
