VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK
We are looking for volunteers to help organize and coordinate Teacher Appreciation Week for our wonderful staff. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact our Office Manager, Michelle Coates (michelle.t.coates@bvsd.org).
SENIOR PARADE
The senior parade was started in 2020 and is now becoming a tradition that the students and community look forward to! It is organized by parents, not affiliated with the school, although we do our best to schedule it around activities with the AD dept. We need at least a dozen parents to assist with this over the next four weeks to make it successful. Senior parents do NOT assist on the day of the parade so that they can enjoy it with their kids, so we need parents from all grades to help out!
We will be holding our first meeting on Tuesday, April 11th at 7pm. If you are interested, please contact either Tara Carlson (tara.c.carlson@gmail.com) or Helene Meyer (helenekmeyer@gmail.com) for more information

Please email Darci Guanella dguanella@gmail.com if you would like to be on the committee.
We are also looking for volunteers to set up and provide water bottles and soda the week prior to the event. If you are interested in volunteering, please use the link to our Sign Up Genius.

I recently found myself at a women’s craft club meeting painting tiles across a table from a super nice woman – and she happened to be a CU Boulder admissions officer. Given that Monarch students apply to CU Boulder way more than any other college, I figured this would be an important person to talk to. Over break, I had the great privilege of sitting down with her and asking about things like whether CU Boulder values dual enrollment credit on par with AP credit, whether CU Boulder is more impressed with transcripts from CU Denver versus Front Range Community College, etc. It was a fascinating conversation. Click here to read the full interview.
And don’t forget to sign up for free college credit this summer!
Let me know what questions you have. Thanks!
