A Note from Mrs. Williams
I apologize for the delay in the newsletter this week, but I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend so far! Though it was a short week, our students and teachers made the most of it with great learning taking place every day! A group of our students even participated in our district Ultimate Book Challenge competition, and I’m so proud of their hard work!\
This week, we also celebrated our exemplar educator of the year, Lindsay Trinkle, 2nd grade teacher! Lindsay goes above and beyond for her students everyday, and it was wonderful to get to celebrate her! She is truly exemplary!
This week was also Assistant Principal Week, and we are fortunate to have the best assistant principal around, Mrs. McMurdo! She does so much behind the scenes to keep our school running from day-to-day, and we are grateful for all she does for our students, staff, and community. We love you Mrs. McMurdo!
I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Williams
Art Show Information
On behalf of the Schluter art department, I want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your attendance and support at the “Once Upon A Time” Art Show. Your presence and encouragement meant so much to our students and faculty.
It was truly inspiring to see so many parents taking an active interest in the creative endeavors of their children. Your support not only validates the hard work of our students but also fosters an appreciation for the arts that will stay with them for a lifetime.
Our students put in countless hours of work to bring this exhibit to life, and your presence and kind words have made it all worthwhile. We are grateful for your continued support of the arts and the role it plays in the education of our children.
Here are a few frequently asked questions about purchasing and receiving your art frames!
Can I still buy a frame?:
Yes! You can purchase frames through April 10th.
How can I buy a frame?:
This year we are using the district online payment system (InTouch) to purchase frames. You can follow the link to pay online or send cash/check (payable to Schluter Elementary). If you pay by cash/check, please put it in an envelope with your student’s name, and homeroom teacher's name and label it “Art Frames”. Frames are $25 each.
Here is the link to pay online:

Can I buy multiple frames?
Luckily, you may purchase one additional frame per student! The additional frame will include a different piece of art work the student created this school year.
How will you get your frames?:
Frames will go home with students the week of April 10th.

Free or reduced-priced meals now require 2022-2023 application
For students who meet federal requirements, school meals may be provided free or at a reduced cost. To receive this benefit, a student's parent or guardian must fill out the free or reduced-cost meal application and be granted admission into the program. While students in the program receive the same benefits briefly at the start of the following school year, the application must be completed annually to continue receiving the program's benefits. For any student who received benefits from the free or reduced-priced meal program in 2021-2022 but has not yet applied and been granted its benefits for the current school year, regular costs are now in effect.
In order for benefits to continue, an application must be completed and returned and free or reduced-price meals will continue to be provided, if the student qualifies. The application can be completed at this link. Paper applications are also available at all Northwest ISD campuses. Please direct any questions to Yen Brown, free and reduced specialist, at 817-698-1091.
