This week...

  • is our second PBIS Fun Day of the 2023-2024 school year on Friday, October 27
  • we kick off soccer try-outs on Tuesday and Thursday ⚽️
  • is the last full week of our Attendance Challenge

After School Attendance

We have started a new way for students to sign up and be accounted for all after school activities. Every student staying after school must first sign up that day via a survey that is emailed daily during Power Hour. The expectation is that ...

  • students complete the survey accurately and before 3:20pm - if a student does not sign up for a class = they can not stay


This new requirement will allow us to address several after school concerns, including …


  • Student safety – In order to make sure all students are being monitored by an adult and are accounted for in case of an after-school lockdown or any other emergency, we need to know what adult is responsible for any given group of students.
  • Limit student wandering – We have several students who stay after school but are jumping from section to section, or simply roaming around, thus not using the time productively and causing a disruption to several programs; The attendance sheets would allow us to ban students who are simply wasting time after school from participating in after school activities, as we do not have the staff capacity to babysit.



Please make sure to talk to your student about the expectation, if he/she stays for any after school program.

Taking the lead during week three of our October Attendance Counts grade-level contest is 9th grade.

There for the grade with the highest rate for week 3 is 9th grade ....


  • 9th = 94%
  • 10th = 93%
  • 11th = 88%
  • 12th = 90.5%


Remember - the grade-level with the highest percentage rate by 10/31 = gets free dress for a the entire week of 11/06!!!


So far if we are looking at all 3 week averages...

9th grae has 90.76%

10th grade has 91%

11th grade has 88%

12th grade has 88.7%

QUIET ZONE IS NOW OFFICIALLY OPEN DURING NUTRITION AND LUNCH

Quiet Zone:

  • No food
  • No talking
  • limited space ; First come, first serve


Wellness Center:

  • No food
  • Noise level low; whispers only
The space will be monitored 100% of the time by either Ms. Cortez or Mr. DePaz.



Also note on hot days - we always have several rooms open in order to help students stay cool; Encourage your student take advantage of this.

    Uniform Policy

    Please note that uniform checks are conducted daily and every student is expected to abide by the uniform policy.


    Student wearing slides, slippers, sandals or any shoe deemed a safety hazard will remain in the main office until parent is able to bring them a change of shoes.


    Students who are not in uniform will…

    • Lose PBIS points

    • Serve nutrition and lunch detention that day

    • Receive a parent phone call, asking to be brought a change of clothes

    FOOD DELIVERY SERVICES

    Food cannot be delivered to students during the school day by food delivery establishments, including but not limited to Uber Eats, Door Dash or GrubHub. Please remember that only parents and immediate family members in the computer system can deliver food to you during the school day. This is to better ensure the security of the school as well as to minimize disruptions to the school day. Food delivered to students by outside delivery companies will be confiscated and given to students at the end of the day, as they head home. If a student opens an outside door to allow an outside food delivery, or accepts food through the gate, they will face disciplinary consequences as that creates a security risk.

    Consequences for ordering food will include...


    • 1 week of nutrition and lunch detention
    • A parent conference
    • Confiscation of the food order, which will only be provided to the students guardian after school
