TIPS Journal October 3, 2022
on the school year so far
Greetings from Tokyo International Progressive School
PSTI's: Our Parent-Student-Teacher Interviews are an important piece of communication between home and school. I hope you will take part, either online or in person, your choice. Time passes quickly, so please reserve time to speak with teachers November 9 - 10. You will be sent a sign-up sheet to reserve time with teachers.
Halloween Prep: A big thank-you to parents who will be here tomorrow to get us in gear for Halloween. The costume contest and seasonal door decoration contest of October 31 is one of the most photographed days of the year, as it shows the unsurpassable creativity in some of our students.
As always, any questions, please ask! You may reply to this message to reach me.
All the best,
Lyn Sato

STUDENT COUNCIL ACTIVITY REPORT
As we get used to the new school year and new systems, Student Council has been continuing to make more changes and improvements. One of the bigger changes is the computer use policy in High School lunch times. With a lot of consideration, we decided to request computer use for certain topics on certain days, just like last year.
Regarding the special events, the outdoor Picnic in the Tamagawa Fields will be taking place on the 7th of October, on Friday. There will be activities including a Nature Scavenger Hunt, “Quiet Place” x Water Gun Fight, and various athletics. Please remember to send PE clothes and/or your own water gun if your child is participating! Furthermore, pizza will be served to students after lunch for 200 yen per piece. More details will be shared in school very soon, please look forward to it!

Students practice this in the Lifelong Skills and Lifelong Wellness classes, both developed and taught by Mr. Jessen-Petersen. The bonus is that it is linked to a student's Google Classroom!
