Please join us at 7PM on Monday, November 13th, for a special parent program entitled, "Tending to Mental Health in a Time of Global Grief." The program, which will be presented by Lisa Athan of Grief Speaks, will be held in the Heritage Middle School auditorium, 20 Foxcroft Drive. This program is for adults only. No registration is necessary. We hope to see you there.

The Livingston Board of Education will hold its next public meeting at 7PM on Tuesday, November 14.

Public meetings are held in a hybrid format during which participants will have the ability to ask questions and make comments either in person or via the webinar. These meetings at the Central Office, 11 Foxcroft Drive, unless otherwise noted. The meetings are also livestreamed on the district's Facebook page, @LivSchools.

The Livingston High School Theater will present its fall play, "Pride and Prejudice," next week! Performances will be offered at 7PM Thursday, November 16th through Saturday, November 18th. A matinee performance will be offered on Saturday, November 18th, at 2PM.

Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at www.LHSTheater.com.

Stuff the Bus is an annual town-wide community service project organized by Livingston Neighbors Helping Neighbors, with participation from Livingston Public Schools, as well as other local organizations, businesses and volunteers. The goal is to collect donations of food and household necessities for Livingston CHOW (Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse), which serves local families in need. On Thursday, October 26th, the bus stopped at participating LPS schools to pick up donations!

Shown below, Stuffy" (aka LPS social studies supervisor Chris Bickel) and Dr. Block helped fifth graders load donations onto the bus at Collins School before heading to other LPS buildings!

The New Jersey School Public Relations Association (NJSPRA) named Livingston Public Schools a winner in the Newsletter category of the 2023 School Communications Award Contest. LPS Spotlight, the district’s bi-montly electronic publication, received third place honors. NJSPRA's 2023 contest was its most competitive on record, with 102 submissions from 41 different school districts.

Some members of the Livingston High School Class of 1973 recently toured LHS as part of their 50th reunion festivities! Thank you to the LHS Key Club and club advisor Val Desamours who were awesome hosts!

LPS partners with Jewish Family Services of MetroWest for the Listen to Children Program. This is a great program where students are able to have additional time connecting and talking with a trusted and caring adult, during the school day, at their school.

Parents are encouraged to contact your child's School Counselor if you are interested in your child participating in the Listen to Children program or to learn more information.

This program is open to all members of the LPS community who are veterans, spouses or children of veterans, and parents of students who are currently enrolled in any of the service acadamies.

Livingston's 36th annual Veterans Day program will take place at Founders Hall, Temple Beth Shalom, on Sunday, November 12, at 11 a.m.

A feature of this year's program will be the screening of the award-winning documentary, "Diversity in the Long Gray Line," which should be of special interest to those who are in the process of -- or are contemplating -- application to West Point, Annapolis, the Air Force Academy or the Coast Guard Academy.

Congratulations to Heritage Middle School ELA teacher Dr. Dakashna Lang, who has been selected for a NJ Teacher Leader Policy Fellowship! The New Jersey Teacher Leader Policy Fellowship is an opportunity for New Jersey teacher leaders (Fellows) to learn about and engage in education policy and advocacy in New Jersey. Over the course of one year, Fellows will study the NJ education policy landscape, hone their advocacy skills, and achieve a short-term advocacy goal. In addition to engaging in high-quality professional learning and networking opportunities.
