OLVCS UpdatesAugust 31, 2023

Dear OLV Parents and Friends,

It has been a great week of school! Although I have been away due to a previously scheduled trip, and return on Friday, I have heard that it has been a wonderful start from Fr. George, faculty and families. I look forward to visiting the classrooms and getting back in the swing of OLVCS.

The summer is a busy time at school. I want to thank Mrs. Cawley, Mrs. Weber, Mr. Stec, Mrs Houtz & Mr. Hoy for their work this summer to ensure that all was ready for the students’ return. Also, a thank you to the teachers for all their preparation, both in lesson planning and their classrooms, the school looks amazing! A thank you to the rectory staff, Mary Ellen Bucknavage, and Sandra Lema, our ‘HR Team’ that makes sure we are cleared, and contracted. Finally, Fr George, for his support and belief of Catholic education for which I am truly grateful.

The OLVCS Walk-A-Thon is around the corner, and will be held on Friday, October 6th. Walk-A-Thon information will be coming home early next week. The Walk-A-Thon is an extremely important funding source for school activities, field trips, curricula, and other student-centered upgrades for our school. We are also planning to direct a portion of this year’s funds to upgrade our school and facility needs in the areas of safety and security.

Coming home next week is a “Family Survey” from the diocese. The data we gather from the survey will be instrumental in obtaining funding from the state for our school used for services that are not covered by our general fund. Please participate and return the survey to the school addressed to Mrs. Weakland. All information will be kept confidential.

As a reminder we don’t have school on Monday, September 4th. Enjoy your long weekend, which I hope is relaxing.

Make it a great day, (evening & weekend too)

Samantha Weakland
