Orana Catholic Primary School
Week 1, Term 2, 2020
TO GIVE IS TO RECEIVE
Generosity is giving and sharing. It is giving freely.
It is seeing a chance to give what you have and then giving just for the joy of giving.
ANZAC Prayer
O God, our ruler and guide,
In whose hands are the destinies of this and every nation,
We give you thanks for the freedoms we enjoy in this land
And for those who laid down their lives to defend them:
We pray that we and all the people of Australia,
Gratefully remembering their courage and their sacrifice,
May have the grace to live in a spirit of justice, of generosity, and of peace;
Through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
One God, for ever and ever.
Amen

Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to the beginning of a new term, we hope there will be big things ahead for us all!
Educational Delivery
Term 2 has commenced for our students through the delivery of online learning packages and, for the smaller children, physical packets of work. This decision was made to ensure the fair and equitable cover of content for students learning both at school and at home. We have responded to feedback provided last term. Parents/carers will notice some changes to the delivery of online work in our ongoing efforts to support our Orana families at this time. I sincerely thank the staff for their ongoing work in this ever evolving space.
The latest information we have confirms that all Masses, Sacramental celebrations, assemblies, sports and school events are on hold until further notice. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and remain responsive to CEWA directives on these matters.
Winter Uniform
As Term 2 commences, parents/carers are reminded that students are required to wear full winter uniform. Given the current circumstances, we ask that all students transition to winter uniform by Monday 11 May. Please ensure the uniform is correctly worn, ie tracksuit jackets on sports day only and so on.
I was advised today that the jumpers we currently have on order for the school have been held up in Fiji, unfortunately due to the COVID-19 virus and this has thrown a bit of a spanner in the works. The supplier indicated that we will expect to see these items in about 6- 7 weeks. I know this is not ideal for parents/carers and apologise for any inconvenience.
Nell Gray does have sizes left in both the Poly/ Wool and the regular cotton,
Poly/Wool- 6/1, 10/16, 12/28, 14/5 and 16/7.
Poly/Cotton- 10/4, 12/4 and 14/1.
PD DAY
A reminder to our families that June 2, is a Professional Development Day, please ensure you have marked this date in your diaries.
Enjoy the beautiful autumn weather this weekend!
