SMS GIVES BACK
Big thank you goes out to all of our students, families, PTA and SMS staff for their contributions and effort making our 18th year of SMS Gives Back a Success. We kicked off our week of SMS GIVING with our 8th grade trip to Target, where students brought in donations to purchase items for families for the holiday and went to the rec center for wrapping. What a great way to bring students together to give generously and to bring joy to others.
Our SMS faculty and staff then donated over $1,000 in gift cards for our SMS raffle, offering gift cards that ranged from $10-$60! Students were able to purchase tickets all week and 100% of the proceeds went directly to our our SMS Gives Back campaign for families. We are so grateful for our staff and community for their generosity.
Students were able to celebrate the week of giving with a SMS FUN DAY. Students participated in musical celebrations, reindeer games, team building activities, drama performances, a PBIS inclusion activity, and a movie and snack during IE and lunch. All created by our SMS staff. It was an amazing day and we had much to celebrate.
We are grateful for the support of parents and PTA members who helped make this possible as well. Big thanks to the following parents for their time and help this week: Haley LaBahn, Kelly Clark, Lesley Placeway, Becky Therrien, Lily Longley, Melissa Luber, Mary Canonico, Crystal Keough, Neemah Allan, Laura Roggy, Kate Rose, Cynthia Smith, Jennifer Kaminski, Erin Witte, Krista Searles, Colleen Parrott, Leslie Hilliard, Kelly Jungeberg, Stacy Streeter, Melissa Crandall, Stephanie Walkiewicz, Dena Jasinski, Terri Rusinko, and Lauren Friedberg
Big thanks to all SMS Staff for their help with events this week, but a special thanks to: Mrs. Joanne Scott, Mrs. Deanna Gundlah, Mrs. Lisa Bluemel, Mrs. Elyssa Ray, Mrs. Mary Kay McNamara, Mrs. Angela Pritts, Mr. Ryan Mester, Mrs. Michelle Smith, Mrs. Tracy Britton, Mrs. Hallie Malloy, Mrs. Sherry Kulway, Mrs. Patti Bendzuck and Mrs. Blackman.

We are happy to announce that collectively, we raised $11,300 this week- AMAZING! What a beautiful opportunity for our community to help one another. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your contributions and support to help our SMS families! I am grateful to be part of such a thoughtful and caring community.
