RES Weekly Buzz
Welcome October
October is truly a terrific month. It means we have made it through the first month of school, as students, teachers, and parents. There is a lot to celebrate in that alone, especially here at RES. Teachers are diving deep into new curricula in reading and some in science, intrigued by the new things they are learning and excited for the student engagement both curriculums bring. Students are settled into the daily routines of their school day and show interest in all they are learning while also being kind and respectful. New leaders are emerging each day as students discover their voices and share their thoughts and ideas in class discussions. We are very pleased with how our first month of school has been.
October also brings brilliant colors, cool temperatures, and sunny, cloudless, blue skies, that we hope you all find time to enjoy. This month we might choose to decorate our houses, play dress up for a night with our kids, and buy & eat WAY too much candy without being judged. We hope that as the fall begins you and your family find time to enjoy beautiful New England together whether it be on the sports field, at the apple orchard, on the trails, or on the beach. Enjoy being together.
On Tuesday our staff with participate in a few different professional development opportunities centered around reading instruction and how best to support students in the classroom. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work closely with our teachers and provide further training allowing RES staff to be the best educators possible for your kids.
Have a restful and enjoyable long weekend! We look forward to seeing the students back in school on Wednesday morning!

Please remember to turn in a copy of your child's latest physical and immunization history.
Please make sure your child brings a water bottle to school every day.
There are many students in school with food allergies. Please remind your child that they should NOT share snacks with other students during classroom snack time.
RPS COVID guidelines remain the same as last year. Please stay diligent about monitoring for symptoms in your child. If your child has symptoms, please test them with a rapid COVID test. Free COVID test kits are available from the Town of Rockport. Reach out to the Board of Selectmen's Office at Town Hall during their business hours. You can review the guidance here.
For any questions or to report your child's illness, please call the RES health office at 978-546-1223 or email rwagner@rpk12.org .
