A Message from Mrs. Booth...
As we approach the end of 2023 and another incredible year at Silver Springs, I wanted to take a moment to extend my heartfelt holiday greetings to each and every one of you. The holiday season is a time of reflection, gratitude, and togetherness, and I am grateful to be part of such a wonderful and supportive school community.
Our students have worked hard, shown immense creativity, and achieved remarkable milestones throughout the year. The dedication of our teachers, staff, and parents has truly made a positive impact on the learning and growth of our students. As we embrace the spirit of the holidays, let us also celebrate the collective effort that has made Silver Springs a place of inspiration and excellence.
May this festive season bring joy, warmth, and happiness to your homes. May you find time to rest, relax, rejuvenate, and create lasting memories with your loved ones. Whether you're celebrating traditions, embarking on new adventures, or simply enjoying some well-deserved downtime, I hope this holiday break provides you with moments of peace and reflection.
Looking ahead to the new year, I am excited about the opportunities and achievements that await our students and our school community. Together, we will continue to foster a nurturing environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Thank you for your ongoing support, collaboration, and commitment to the success of our students. I am truly grateful to be part of the Silver Springs family. Wishing you a wonderful holiday season filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of cherished moments.
Be well,
Katie Booth

SILVER SPRINGS DIRECTORY
The directory is here!!!! This awesome little book, produced by the PTA, helps to forge friendships and make connections outside of school.
The directory comes in two formats:
1. A print edition – Every Silver Springs household will receive one FREE copy. You do not have to be a PTA member – all families will get one!
The print copy of the directory was sent home with your student during the week on Monday, December 11 (if you have more than one student, your oldest child will receive the directory to bring home).
2. An electronic edition – READY NOW FOR PTA MEMBERS!!!! The e-version is in a searchable PDF format and posted on the password-protected PTA member portal. Access to the online version is a perk of PTA membership! To view the directory, visit www.silverspringspta.com, click on the “Directory” button, and log in to Givebacks (formerly Memberhub).
THANK YOU to Charlene Chu, the PTA chairperson of the directory project, and to Mya Struthers for the beautiful cover illustrations.

Don’t Scrap the App!
The Michigan School Meals program supplements the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program, meaning that parents of students who would otherwise be eligible for free or reduced meals should continue to submit applications for free or reduced meals for their students. Even though meals will be free this year, it is vitally important that parents who meet, or believe they may meet, the free and reduced income guidelines, submit an application to ensure maximum benefits for their students and the District.
Some of these benefits include: athletics and activities discounts for student fees associated with participating in athletics and activities programs, SAT/ACT/AP test discounts for academic testing, college application discounts for college application fees, discounted internet access services, federal/state/local school funding for school budgets, Summer EBT.
