Message from Mrs. Phelan
Dear Families,
Happy Lunar New Year! I hope you enjoyed your weekend and the Super Bowl. I wanted to provide you with some important updates since our latest newsletter.
Firstly, I wanted to inform you that a rather large winter storm is forecasted for the upcoming week. To stay informed about any closings, delays, or canceled events, I recommend tuning in to [news channel/website] for the latest updates.
In addition, I am pleased to announce that Dr. Galdston has announced three finalists for the position of Assistant Superintendent. Their names will be shared in the newsletter, along with more information about their qualifications and experience.
Lastly, I would like to direct your attention to our DESE Report Card. Please take a moment to review the report, as it provides valuable insights into our school's performance and achievements.
I hope you find these updates helpful and informative. It promises to be an exciting week before we all head off for our winter vacation.
Thank you for your attention, and please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
With gratitude,
Stacy

J.R. Lowell School's 2023 DESE Report Card
Valentine's Day is February 14th
Valentine's Day is approaching on Wednesday, February 14th. It's a special day in America to celebrate love and friendship. While it's known as a romantic holiday, it's also a time to honor all loved ones, including friends and family.
On this day, many people choose to wear red or pink as a symbol of love. In schools, children often exchange small Valentine cards with their friends and classmates. These cards can be homemade or store-bought, depending on your preference.
Here at Lowell, some classes, especially those in younger grades, may have activities planned to celebrate each other. It's a fun way for children to express their appreciation for their friends and classmates.
While families are not expected to send anything special to school, if you decide to send cards, please send them for the whole class. This ensures that every child feels included and loved on this special day.
If you're looking for Valentine cards, there are many free printable options available online. This can be a convenient and cost-effective way to find cards that your child will enjoy sharing with their classmates.
We hope you and your child have a wonderful Valentine's Day celebration filled with love and friendship.
