Hello SVDP Community,

On Sunday, our 2nd and 3rd grade students will celebrate their First Holy Communion. While the event will take place in the church, guests for each participant are limited. We invite the rest of our community to join us via SVDP church's Facebook page.

This week the Department of Catholic Schools met with the Department of Public Health. At this time, the SFDPH is hopeful that schools will be able to return to "normal" operations for the 2021-2022 school year. They indicated that there are four key factors that the schools will still be responsible for including masking, hand hygiene, ventilation, and symptom screening.

This was encouraging news for SVDP as we plan our staffing, curriculum, and calendars for the coming year.

Signed contracts and deposit checks are due no later than April 30, 2021.

Any contracts not received by April 30 will also incur a late fee.

We are pleased with the response to our unique fundraising opportunity. We really need every family to sell their 10 tickets and not to hesitate asking for more. These funds are important to the summer seismic upgrade of our middle school building.

Please turn in completed stubs and money to Brenda Barkley. Turning in your tickets as you sell, helps us track our progress. You don't have to wait to May 14th!

NEW INCENTIVES:

1. The students of the family that sell the most tickets will get to draw the winning ticket on May 17th! You do not need to track how many you sell. Your ticket numbers are assigned by family, and we reconcile when the sold ticket stubs are returned.
2. As a community, if we sell 2,500 tickets, there will be a special end of year treat for our students.

SELLING TIPS:

1. If $50 seems steep to a potential buyer, suggest that two people can split the cash prize by putting in $25 each.
2. Use your phone, text everyone you know.
3. People can pay you with cash or check (made payable to SVDP). They can also pay you directly using a Venmo-type platform. You just need to convert to cash or check when returning the sold ticket stubs to school.

(Reprinted from 4/23/21) Please note, for the 2021-2022 school year, we will no longer have early dismissal on Wednesdays. Mondays we will release at 12:45 / 1:00. There will be no lunch service on Mondays.

As of now, we are planning to host extended care every day when school releases. Again, our plans are completely dependent on the city's COVID status and SFDPH regulations.

We have hit the 87% participation mark. Congratulations to the Kindergarten and 2nd Grade for achieving 100% participation.

On May 5th, we welcome C.R. Stewart back to SVDP. This time, it will be a virtual visit, but he will share his latest work with grades 3 - 8.

The Advisory Board and the Administration know that our amazing families are the best spokespeople for SVDP. To remain competitive in the San Francisco school marketplace, we must attract families that share our educational standards, values, and sense of community. For these reasons, the Advisory Board is pleased to announce a Family Referral Program.

Beginning July 1, 2021, if you recommend a family that accepts enrollment and pays all their fees, incidental charges, and tuition through October for the 2022-2023 school year, the Finance Committee will apply a $500 credit to your FACTS account in October 2022. You will get $500 for each successful referral, with a max of three referral credits. Only one SVDP family may claim a referral. The FACTS credit must be used towards tuition, not incidental charges. When a family applies, they should include the name of the referring family on their application. Online applications have been updated to include this information. The referring family does not need to write a letter of recommendation to receive the credit.

PILOT PROGRAM

Before this program launches in July, we are offering a pilot initiative beginning immediately. From now to June 30, 2021, if a current family refers an incoming family to attend in Grades 1 – 7 (for the 2021-2022 school year), the referring family will receive a $500 credit in October 2021, contingent on the applicant accepting enrollment and paying all fees, incidental charges, and tuition through October 2021.

(reposted from 3/5/21) During HyFlex learning, we were more lenient regarding wearing the full uniform everyday. Beginning immediately, students must always be in full uniform (see attached), which includes the school sweater. In addition, for the remainder of this school year, students may wear the uniform store's fleece or Parent Guild Spirit Store items OVER their sweater (not in place of their sweater) while in the classroom.

Any additional items worn for warmth must be navy or gray and display no logos, graphics, or trademarks.
