Parent-Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday, October 18, and Thursday, October 19. This is a time where you are able to discuss progress your child is making as well as express any concerns you may have. We hope to have 100% turn out! To schedule a time please click here!
Stop Bullying Now!
Even though we work on bully prevention all year long, October is is a month where we really focus on prevention activities. Our character pillar for the month of October is respect. We will focus on how we can be respectful at all, even when we have our differences. Also, resources are shared with staff through our counselor, Mrs. Slimmer, that focus on bully prevention. Our sixth graders, just this week, will do several activities that include presentations, video clips, looking at scenarios, and coming up with ways to stand up to bullies!
Halloween Celebrations
Our Halloween celebrations will be held on Tuesday, October 31. Our school-wide parade will begin at 2:15. Weather permitting, we will have the parade in the back of the school. In inclement weather, we will be in the gym. Parents are welcome to come watch their students in the parade. We will do a live Facebook streaming of the parade as well if you would like to watch that way. Our parties will begin around 2:45 after the parade.
We are asking that students DO NOT wear their costumes to school, but make it something easy to change into prior to the parade. Also, no facsimiles of weapons or excessively gory or bloody costumes will be permitted as we do have preschool and kindergarten students who will be watching the parade.
Wanamaker Fall Festival

Early Release Day
Our first early release day is Wednesday, October 4. Please take note of the new time for Early Release! So that teachers have a longer time to collaborate, early release will take place at 2:15. You can expect buses to arrive home around 1.5 hours earlier that usual. Because of the earlier departure time, we have fewer early release days throughout the year. This time is valuable to teachers to have time to work and plan together as a team!
Attendance Matters
Did you know that missing just 10% of the school year can significantly impact a student's learning? This translates to around 18 days, or two to three days a month. When students are absent, they miss out on crucial instruction, valuable class discussions, and vital hands-on learning experiences. This can lead to gaps in understanding and, ultimately, hinder their overall progress.
Consistent attendance is important to develop academic success, building a strong work ethic, establishing good routines, fostering social skills, and paving the way for future opportunities.
As parents, you play a crucial role in supporting your child's attendance. We encourage you to prioritize punctuality and schedule appointments outside of school hours whenever possible. Additionally, please communicate with us if your child is facing any challenges that may impact their attendance.
Let's work together to ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive academically and socially. By striving for fewer than 10% absences, we're setting our students up for a bright and successful future.
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in your child's education.
Character Pillars
We had a great time in September focusing on Citizenship. We were able to recognize many students who were being amazing citizens! During the month of October, we will be focusing on Respect as a school.
Student Drop-off and Pick-up
If you are dropping students off in the morning, or picking them up in the afternoon, we appreciate you following the procedure below. Please go through the car rider line where adults are waiting to help supervise your children going into the building. Thank you so much for your assistance with this!
