Eastview Update
Friday, August 21, 2020
Welcome back to Eastview!
On behalf of the faculty and staff at Eastview High School, I am excited to welcome you to a new school year. While the start of this school year is different than any other, our focus remains the same. Together, we will continue to support your child with a positive learning experience in pursuit of each student’s unique goals. Our learning and student support resources are the same and we will continue to achieve them in new and different ways.
“Together, with our dedicated teachers, our goal is to partner with you to ensure your children, our students, will have a successful learning experience.”
I share with you the excitement, anticipation and optimism of the beginning of a new school year and I also share the concern that comes with a new beginning for both parents and students especially. This is an unusual time and a priority for us is to keep our focus on the health and safety of each other while creating the best learning opportunities our circumstances will allow. I believe in our students to help us maintain a safe environment so that we can continue this model and it is important for us to build relationships with our students in the time we have with each other whether in person or through Zoom time.
Our teachers are awesome and they have been focused throughout this summer, collaborating with each other, preparing to support our students through digital learning and through our in-person and Zoom connections. We will help our students learn the very best we can and provide the same level of support that we have in the past. I believe in our teachers and their innovative, creative, passionate approach to our flexible learning model. They have used what they learned last spring to prepare meaningful learning opportunities for our students. We are ready to get back to learning!
Please take time to familiarize yourself with the information provided here. We are doing all we can to provide opportunities for you to be connected with us here at Eastview. Our dedicated teachers want to partner with you and work as a team to ensure your children, our students, have all the necessary supports to make their school experience a successful one. If we have missed a detail to which you have a question, please let us know and we will get you the answer.
We are proud that Eastview has been recognized as an exemplary school in many publications. There is a unique sense of community that makes EVHS a special place. You are in the right place at Eastview High School and we are happy you are here.
If you or your student need support, please reach out to a teacher, a counselor, or an administrator; we are all here to help in any way we can.
Take care of yourself and those that surround you.
Bruce Miller
Principal

Online Schedule Review: Friday, August 21 (5:00pm)-Thursday, August 27(5:00pm)
- As of 5:00pm on Friday, August 21, the online schedule review portal will be available for students to review class schedules for the 2020-21 school year. The portal will close at 5:00pm on Thursday, August 27 so that we may continue to make corrections/adjustments to student schedules in preparation for the first day of school. Class schedules will be available in Infinite Campus by clicking the link below.
- The primary purpose of this initial schedule review is to check for accuracy based upon requests made during the registration process in January and February.
- When reviewing your schedule:
- be sure the classes you requested during the registration period last spring are included in your schedule (scheduling conflicts may have resulted in the placement of your alternate selections),
- be sure your schedule includes all four quarters (A/B/C/D) for yearlong courses and that they are scheduled with the same teacher throughout the year, and
- be sure you have a minimum of six courses per quarter (for grades 9 and 10) or a minimum of five courses per quarter (for grades 11 and 12); open periods will convert to a study hall when school starts.
- For incoming 9th grade and other new students to Eastview High School, your completed schedules will be provided for you during Orientation Week (September 8-11). You will have access to your school counselor at that time if you have schedule questions.
- Please note that as we make final adjustments to the EVHS master schedule prior to the first day of school, individual classes will remain the same, but teachers, periods, and/or locations may change. Final schedules will be available in Infinite Campus prior to Orientation Week, beginning Tuesday, September 8.
- We made staffing and scheduling decisions based on your course requests last spring, so changes will be limited. Only requests for corrections will be considered at this time. You may access the online schedule correction request process below . Or visit the Eastview Home page and go to FAMILIES à COUNSELING à SCHEDULE CHANGE REQUESTS.
