Dear Students and Parents/Guardians,
December has arrived! And with it comes LOTS of exciting activities that we want you to be a part of! Please take a minute to read this newsletter so that you don't miss something important! If you do not already follow Bridge Creek Intermediate School on Facebook, please do so in order to stay informed of all the fun activities, important announcements, and student and staff celebrations at BCIS!

Upcoming Events for December
- December 1 - 6: Christmas Food Basket Collection
- Please see the flyer below for instructions on requesting a basket for your family.
- December 1 - 20: Lost and Found
- Lost and Found for this semester will be on tables in the BCIS hallway. Please stop by at your convenience to look for missing items.
- December 4 - 7: Christmas Store
- Students who bring money will be able to go shop during their classes designated shopping time. (See flyer below.)
- December 5 @ 2:00: BCIS "Crazy Christmas" Music Program
- Students have worked so hard on this Program and are excited to perform for our guests.
- Guests are asked to arrive prior to 2:00 and sit on the West Side of the HS Gym.
- While we encourage you to allow your student to remain in school the remainder of the day, if you need to check your student out, you will need to do so at the Intermediate Office after the performance.
- Please note: THIS IS THE ONLY PERFORMANCE. The evening performance had to be cancelled due to a scheduling conflict.

Notes from the Nurse
Attendance Reminder
EXCUSED ABSENCES:
Excused Absences must meet one of the following criteria:
1. Any medical treatment that is substantiated by a physician’s written statement. THE PHYSICIAN’S STATEMENT MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE SCHOOL AND is SUBJECT TO VERIFICATION BY A SCHOOL OFFICIAL
2. A court subpoena
3. Religious holidays or activities
4. Bereavement
5. Forty-eight (48) hours to treat and clear head lice with appropriate medical documentation upon return to school
In accordance with state law, students must be in regular attendance at school. The maximum number of days a student can be absent from any single class is 7 days per semester. This will include Absence Notified and Absence Unexcused days.
Before School and After School Schedule
8:20 Doors Open
Students will either go to the cafeteria for breakfast or to their classroom
8:40 Breakfast Ends
(Students should be at school by 8:35 if they wish to eat breakfast)
8:45 School Starts
3:40 Car Rider/Daycare Dismissal
3:45 Bus Rider Dismissal
