Marching Success
The Yulee High School's Marching Sound of One created history by becoming the first marching band from YHS to reach state finals at the Florida Marching Band Championships on November 11, 2023. MS1 is now ranked among the top five marching bands in the state of Florida. This is a commendable achievement as most of the students are involved in other clubs and sports, yet they maintain their academic excellence. Music education is pivotal to these students, and we are thrilled to celebrate their success!
Community Helpers
The kindergarten and first-grade students at Wildlight Elementary School recently had the opportunity to meet many community helpers in the area. They learned about the importance of doctors, local farmers, forestry, landscaping, firefighters, police officers, and even a local news station. Other guests included the Wildlight vision department, UPS, YMCA, members of the military, and FPL. The children were able to check out equipment and tools and ask questions to learn more about how these amazing presenters help our community.
Thanksgiving Fun

Gratitude
As we focused on the resiliency trait of “gratitude” this month, students and staff at Yulee Elementary School were able to write what they were grateful for and help fill our Gratitude Jar. We were able to fill 3 jars with all the things we are grateful for!
Thanksgiving Reading
Mrs. Bermudez's 5th graders enjoyed Thanksgiving themed Reading activities in class, improving their ELA skills while having fun!
Book Signing
On Wednesday afternoon, Ms. Mudroch was honored for her newly published book, Accessible Learning Spaces: A guide for Implementing Universal Design in Early Childhood. The achievement was celebrated and she was commended for her efforts in promoting the learning of all students. Generous donations from community partners such as Amelia Island Coffee, Poole & Poole Architecture, LLC, PrimeSouth Bank, Capital City Home Loans, Story & Song Bookstore Bistro, Lotts Furniture, Landmark Foundation, Inc., and Dr. Ken Owens allowed the school to purchase copies of the book for each teacher, which were then signed by the author herself.
Math Manipulatives
In Ms. Elliott's Yulee Adult Education class, students are actively engaging with math manipulatives to review various topics. They are using red and yellow counters to practice adding and subtracting integers. In another lesson, students learned how to solve 2-step equations using Algebra tiles. These lessons have shown that using math manipulatives can be effective at all levels of learning.
Flashes Ornaments
The Senior Beta students at Hilliard Middle-Senior High School celebrated Christmas by purchasing and painting Flashes ornaments. These were used to decorate a Christmas tree for the faculty and staff at HMSHS, spreading holiday joy throughout the campus. The students were able to support a local small business, South Pine Designs, LLC, and a fellow NCSB employee.
Thanksgiving Fun
Before Thanksgiving break, Emma Love staff enjoyed a fun-filled day with turkey sandwiches and rock-paper-scissors games.
New Safety Patrol
Yulee Primary School held a ceremony to honor its new Safety Patrol members. The students pledged to be excellent role models while monitoring the sidewalks.
