Celebrating Mrs. Rathert
Tomorrow we have the opportunity to celebrate and cheer on our very own Paula Rathert. Mrs. Rathert will be recognized tomorrow evening as one of four finalists for Contra Costa County Teacher of the Year! The celebration will be held at The Lesher Center for the Arts. You can watch the celebration live at 6:00pm on this Youtube link .
Keep READING for the Readathon
Our students are *reading*! Thank you for your support and spreading the word about our Read-a-thon. We have made great progress towards our financial goal, and luckily there's still time for students to reach their reading goals.
Students are working towards a school-wide "hibernation day" where we'll celebrate with pajamas and fun reading activities!
Pledgestar makes it easy to track reading minutes and fundraise. Customize your child’s appeal, translate it, have your gift matched, and more. To sign up visit pledgestar.com/wcef or for more information visit wcefk12.org/readathon.

Notes From The Office
Illness Guidelines
When to keep sick children home:
If they have a fever of 100.5 or higher
Active vomiting or diarrhea
Significant runny nose, congestion or cough
Pink eye, strep or other contagious illness that requires antibiotics
Suspected Covid symptoms
A child may return to school when:
They are fever free for 24 hours without medication
No vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours
Symptoms are improving and child is feeling better
Child has been on antibiotics for 24 hours and child is feeling better
Covid testing is highly recommended
If you are unsure if you should keep your child home, please contact the office and we will help advise. If you are needing to give your child over the counter medications for illness symptoms then it is recommended that they stay home until they are feeling better. Also, please remember to notify the office if your child will be out due to illness.
