MAY 2023
Hello SVT Families,
Happy May Day! Time is flying by quickly as we approach the end of the year and we have been busy this past month! Our Skills USA group won 6 state championships in April and 9 of our students have been invited to compete at the National Skills USA competition this June in Atlanta. You can read more about it below, but we are very proud and excited for these students! We also just elected ASB officers for the 2023-24 school year, and we're very proud of all of the students that participated in the campaigns and elections.
There are lots of activities happening this month and next that we want to make sure you are aware of; please take some time to read through the newsletter to make sure you are ready for what's to come!
An important event this month is Teacher Appreciation Week, May 8th-12th. I am so thankful for the work they do to support all of our students as well as the warm welcome they have given me during my time here. If you have time, please be sure to thank them for their hard work!
We are also preparing for the 8th Annual SVT Trade Show! Students will be working in classes to prepare their projects and presentations (posters due May 12th). Be sure to pencil in the date to join us on June 1st!
Our last progress reports of the year will be May 16th. Please check PowerSchool for these updates and encourage your student to get things made up and turned in as soon as possible. We have after school support on Tuesdays and Wednesdays , from 2-3 PM, and teachers are available before and after school. If your student has any questions about a class, please have them contact their classroom teacher as soon as possible.
We look forward to the last full month of school for the 2022-23 school year!
Tricia Campbell, Interim Principal
