Drama Kids International
BUILD CONFIDENCE AND HAVE FUN!
Drama Kids is now offering an exciting program at Berkeley Lake Elementary! Weekly activities include: improvisations, mini-scripts, speaking skills, character analysis, theater games, creative movement, and performances! At Drama Kids our focus is to lead creative, cooperative activities that teach children verbal skills, self-confidence, and creative thinking. Drama Kids can give kids the confidence to think big, speak up, and play an active role. Those same skills can be the building blocks that help children achieve personally and academically, and while they are learning, they are also have a great time! Look for a flyer in your child's Friday Folder today.

Reminders
- Any time you are going to check-out your child early from school, please send a note to the teacher either the day before or the morning of the check-out and include the time the student will be picked up. Also, please allow time for your child to come to the front once they have been called since they may not be in the classroom at that time. Students are not to wait in the office for a parent who will be checking them out, they will remain with their teacher until called to the front.
K-Kids
Just a friendly reminder to our K-Kids members to encourage their fellow classmates in the 5th grade to consider joining our club. We will accept applications until 9/07/2018. There is an envelope outside Mrs. Ashadele's Classroom by the 4th/5th grade hall. We look forward to seeing all members 9/14/2018. We will be electing officers on 9/14/2018 so students should come prepared to tell the group why they should hold an office.

Bottlecaps Needed
Parents, please start collecting and sending in any kind/size/color of clean plastic bottle caps for a special project that will involve the whole school. We need thousands before September 10th. A bin will be located in the front hall of the school for collection. Thank you!
Attendance Counts!
In some instances, poor academic performance can be connected to poor school attendance. A 2008 study done by the National Center for Children in Poverty found a direct correlation between lower achievement and higher absentee rates.
