DeMello Backpack 12/15/23

We hope this newsletter finds you all wrapping up the week and looking forward to the weekend. We've been busy with so much learning at DeMello this week! In my daily learning walks, I've seen more rigorous and fun reading, math and art lessons! I am so impressed with how well are youngest readers are mastering phonics patterns. Students across grade levels continue to work hard on progressing through their ST Math journeys with Jiji and are also exploring math in real-world contexts each day. Third graders are working on research for writing and our 5th graders can't get enough of the Revolutionary War. Please enjoy the pictures of your children from this week!

This morning, we enjoyed a brief holiday concert performed by the DMS strings! Some of the musicians are former DeMello students and it was wonderful to welcome them back! We were incredibly impressed with their talents and want to thank them all, as well as Ms. Church and Mr. Daniels for a wonderful experience!

To ensure we are squeezing every drop of joy out of this wonderful season, we are holding a DeMello School Holiday Spirit Week from 12/18-12/21. We are hoping all of our students will join in the fun!

• Tuesday, 12/19: Holiday Sweater Day
• Wednesday, 12/20: Cozy Flannel Day
• Thursday, 12/21: Pajama Day (no slippers, please!)
