Student Financial Accounts (SFAs)
Also called "individual accounts," these exist to provide students and families opportunities to raise, store, and spend funds for band-related purchases/fees/trip expenditures while a student is enrolled within the Eagle Bands program at LNHS. The SFAs are still relatively new, so please be patient as we continue to work out the 'kinks.'
Click here to view a detailed explanation of the SFAs. This was the policy originally approved by the district, but currently is undergoing revision by the Boosters and Directors.
Click here to submit parent/guardian contact information for your student(s). Information submitted through this form will only be used by Band Boosters to communicate Student Financial Account (SFA) balance and reimbursement information.
Click here to access the updated form used to request usage/transfer of SFA funds.
Questions? Please contact Booster President Amy Konkle (libertynorthband@gmail.com), or one of our Co-Treasurers Julianne Hemphill or Crissy Patterson (lnbandtreasurer@gmail.com).

6. Senior Spotlight
Dylan Muñoz
Favorite band memory - "My favorite moment was the first time we when grand champ at Cameron. There was some much excitement and joy and it was a great memory to share with many of my friends."
Something interesting/unique about me - "I have a twin brother who’s in choir and orchestra."
Accomplishments/accolades/awards - "I made honorable mention once and jazz alternate once. I’ve gotten outstanding for both solos I’ve done and exemplary for the trio I did. I’ve attended events at William Jewell such as Windfest and Tromboneopolis. I was selected to participate in the all junior band at Mizzou and I’ve earned outstanding soloist for multiple jazz events. I’ve lettered in band every single year I’ve been in it as well as academics and I’ve lettered in orchestra twice."
Zack Walsh
Instrument(s)/Equipment - Tuba/Sousaphone
Favorite band memory - "The first competition in Sedalia of my Sophomore year, I was on the curb sitting with two close friends of mine: Nick and Carter. Eventually a wasp landed on Nick, and his response was to grab it and throw it at Carter who I remember cowering behind me in fear. It's still the funniest thing I've ever witnessed."
Something interesting/unique about me - "I am a board games enthusiast and collector."
Other Info - "I am an Eagle Scout."
7. Upcoming Auditions/Camps/Workshops/Performance Opportunities
Northwinds Symphonic Band Young Artist Concerto Competition
The Northwinds Symphonic Band has an annual Concerto Competition for students in grades 9-12. The winner of this competition not only gets to perform with this semi-professional band on one of their concerts, but they also win a cash prize of $1,000.00! (Dr. Doss has had 4 former students win this competition over the years, though I take ZERO credit for their success in this event! I say this only to let you know it is VERY possible to win!)
Information may be found here. Deadline is January 24, 2024.

8. Directors Do Things, Too!
Dr. Doss Writes
Mr. Dragen Acts
Mr. Dragen is performing at the Warwick Theatre in the Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre production of "Judgment at Nuremberg" (discounted tickets available if you purchase using the code in the photo)
Dr. Doss Still Plays Trumpet
Over the break, Dr. Doss had numerous performances around town. Perhaps the most meaningful was playing trumpet trios with his father-in-law (who also happens to be his former high school orchestra director) and his son!
Alumni Connection
Dr. Doss enjoyed catching up (and performing) with a couple of LN alumni--Pictured is Carson Krop. Also in the brass group was Jacob Rains on trombone!
Collegial Connection
Dr. Doss also performed under the direction of Mr. Anderson (Assistant Director of Choirs at LN) for a Christmas Eve service at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Life-Long Friends
LN Staff to Chicago
Mr. Fuller, Mr. Dragen, and Dr. Doss attended the Midwest International Band & Orchestra Clinic in Chicago. They heard some of the top ensembles from around the world, as well as attended clinics on teaching strategies, rehearsal techniques, and much more!
