Communicating gratitude is always important, but especially at Thanksgiving. As we close out these last 7 school days leading up to Thanksgiving, we want to express our gratitude to students, staff and families. We are thankful for all your help and support for this upcoming Jamboree on November 18th, your participation in Spirit Week and your partnership in ensuring all stakeholders are committed to learning in a Culture of Excellence at SGMS. Stay tuned for pictures from this upcoming week that will be shared after Thanksgiving.

Dance #2: 12/2 (no discipline referrals 11/21-12/2 to be eligible)

Report Cards

Report cards were sent electronically last week on Tuesday. Several parents have shared they did not receive the report card. This is due to not having an email on file in Power School. Signing up for Dojo with an email doesn't automatically add it to Power School. Therefore, if you have not seen your child's report card please reach out to your child's homeroom teacher through email and include wilsonc8@gcsnc.com. Ms. Wilson is our data manager and will add your email to ensure you get document delivery. We need to ensure all families are aware of where your child stands for 1st quarter so goal setting will be more accurate moving forward. if your child is failing any course teachers will be reaching out or has reached out for a conference. Please ensure you set a date with them to discuss current progress, make a plan to move forward, check steps to ensure progress and then updates throughout to inspect what we expect. Students with a D will also get a teacher contact. These conferences are necessary in order to partner together to ensure your child has what they need to succeed. Creating a Culture of Excellence at SGMS is EVERY CHILD EVERY DAY. We know our students are capable of great things and your partnership in this journey is vital to OUR success.
