DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP TIP OF THE WEEK
WEEK #1
Screen Time vs Offline Time
Spending too much time online can hurt your mental health, friendships and learning. Choose the amount of screen time you and your adult think is suitable for a day and stick to it.
Checking social media often leads to diminished happiness and “social comparison.” Limit your social media time and make it a goal to make live connections with family and friends.
If you’d rather be online and you feel anxious when you aren’t able to be online, it’s definitely time to talk to a trusted adult.
A great way to eliminate the stress constantly being online is to turn off notifications.
Let’s be good friends and citizens! When you are having a real conversation with someone, resist the urge to look at your phone or device. Even better, turn it off completely! How would you feel if you were talking about the most embarrassing moment of your life to your best friend and they were looking at their phone the whole time?
