Honor One Another
Take time to thank our board members for their service and how they honor others above themselves. Our board members are Robert Ruppel, Janelle Hagen, Peter Westendorf, John Peterson, and Bob Schauf.
We will work diligently on instilling this concept daily here at Ascension Academy this year. What a great theme to focus on. Our students will hear about honoring others and see our faculty and staff model this.

Bible Class
What is the Bible? It’s an age-old question that every Christian needs to know how to
answer.
Throughout Bible Road Trip™, students will come to a deeper understanding of Scripture
and of who God is. A practice of prayer, Bible reading, and Scriptural study will outfit
your family for a lifetime in the Bible, and for an active, dynamic relationship with the
King of the Universe.
2 Timothy 3:14-17 (ESV) says: But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writing, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
Students are memorizing the following verses for the first week:
K-5 Students - Psalm 119:105
6-8 Students - Psalm 19:7-9, Psalm 119:105, 2 Peter 1:21, Romans 5:1-2 (They picked 2)
Psalm 119:105, "Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light to my path."
Reading this week included the following:
Matthew 4:1-11 (Grades 4-8)
Matthew 13:1-23 (All Grades)
Luke 6:46-49 (All Grades)
Ephesians 6:10-18 (All Grades)
Questions to ponder:
What are the four types of soil?
As we prepare to spend time in the Word, what kind of soil do we want our hearts to be?
What does Jesus tell us about those who hear his words and put them into practice?
Which sounds better - building your life on sand, or building your life on rock?
