Dear Swift-Slaybaugh Families,

We had another successful week at the complex. We have seen a significant decrease in Covid-19 cases at the school, which is promising and welcomed. With the warmer temperatures our students were able to enjoy the outdoors more this week, which definitely made everyone happy and relaxed. Our Parents’ Club organized a very successful fundraiser, Valentine’s Day Pizza Kits from Maurizio’s in EHT. The pickup for the kits occurred on Wednesday night and 380 were sold! A big thank you to our Parents’ Club for their constant hard work and care for our school community.

Next week is “Random Acts of Kindness Week” at the complex. You will see the themes and kindness goals for each day below. Kindness is always taught, encouraged, and expected at the Swift-Slaybaugh Complex and we appreciate your support at home as always. Please encourage your children to participate each day of next week by doing the suggested activities. Thank you for your continued cooperation and support and like always, please do not hesitate to reach out should you have any questions or concerns.

Ms. Stef and Ms. Claudia's class went on a Classroom Pet Hunt to see which classrooms have a class pet. They found hermit crabs, fish, and a "grow your own lizard" on their hunt. They also paraded through the halls for our Olympic Opening Ceremonies as the Jamaican Bobsled Team.

All K-1 students learned about personal space with Miss Feaster this week. Mrs. Sheeran’s class is showing what they learned.

Mrs. Widas' first grade students proudly marched throughout the hallways of Swift Elementary in honor of the Olympic opening ceremonies.

Students in Kindergarten and First Grade received a library book bag as a gift from the Swift School Library! The Gerald and Piggie themed bags are for students to carry their library book back and forth in an effort to protect them from rogue water bottles. Happy Reading!

Congratulations to Alexis Grey, Slaybaugh Primary's Staff Member of the week! Alexis is a Paraprofessional in our Preschool and does an awesome job!

Ms. Nardone would like to thank her former student, Jim Lynch, for his generous contribution to the Swift- Slaybaugh Complex. Mr. Lynch donated 5 books from author, Bukola Somide, called Somi the Computer Scientist. Mr. Lynch was in Ms. Nardone's 2nd grade class many years ago and is now a computer programmer. He runs the website jimlynchcodes.com. #EHTPRIDE
