Scholarship Guidance
Below you will find a list of 15 Scholarship Programs that will give out more than 220 Individual Scholarship Awards during the 2022 school year. Students from your school district are eligible for all awards below.

SCHOLARSHIPS DEADLINES BETWEEN: FEBRUARY 28th and MAY 31st, 2022
1) Smart Owl Scholarship - $7,000 - 12 Awards (Deadline: February 28, 2022)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Be a resident of any of the 50 United States, District of Columbia or US Territories.
B) Be 16 years of age or older and be enrolled in college or registered in a high school.

2) DAV Scholarships - $30,000 - 10 Awards (Deadline: February 28, 2022)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Be 21 or younger and have volunteered for a minimum of 100 hours through DAV or DAV Auxiliary.
B) Have accumulated the volunteer hours at a VA medical center, and/or the Local Veterans Assistance Program (LVAP). Hours must be credited to Disabled American Veterans.

3) Women's Cyber Security Scholarships - $6,000 - 10 Awards (Deadline: February 28, 2022)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Be pursuing, or plan to pursue, a degree with a focus on cybersecurity or information assurance.
B) Be a senior in high school with a GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.

4) Kennedy Center VSA Young Soloists Award - $2,000 – 4 Awards (Deadline: February 28, 2022)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Be either a Soloist (instrumental or vocal) or an Ensemble (instrumental or vocal) of two (2) to five (5) members, such as rock bands, chamber ensembles, and choral groups.
* For ensembles to be eligible, at least one musician must have a disability.

5) SP Scholarship - $10,000 - 10 Awards (Deadline: February 28, 2022)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Be a high school student planning to attend college in September 2022.
B) Answer the Essay question on the sponsors website.

6) SEG Scholarships - $10,000 - 150 Awards (Deadline: March 1, 2022)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Be a high school senior planning to attend college next year.
B) Be intending to pursue a college curriculum directed toward a career in applied geophysics.

7) Eagle Scout of the Year Scholarship - $10,000 - 4 Awards (Deadline: March 1, 2022)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Have reached their 15th birthday and be enrolled in high school.
B) Be a registered active member of a Boy Scouts of America unit that is chartered to an American Legion post, American Legion Auxiliary unit or Sons of The American Legion squadron.

We are an alternative high school, designed to help at-risk students achieve their goals of high school graduation and beyond. HSoC supports students through rigorous, innovative, and engaging learning experiences. Every student will be empowered to fiercely navigate their world with resilience, purpose, courage, humility, and pride.
