Early Learning Coaches
In an effort to improve quality through evidence-based efforts, an Early Learning specialist is provided to serve every PreK-2nd grade classroom at Developing and Focus campuses in the district.
Specialists provide coaching support for teachers to identify goals, use data to direct instruction, and improve instructional practices based on feedback. Special attention is paid to quality teacher-student and student-student interactions so that classrooms have a high level of emotional support, student agency, and instructional focus.

Dual Language ESL Support
The Dual Language ESL Department provides support to all Dallas ISD campuses to increase student achievement by effectively addressing emergent bilinguals’ academic, linguistic, and social needs. Competing, Developing, and Focus campuses receive weekly or biweekly support from Dual Language, ESL, and Immigrant Instructional Specialists.

Staff (FTE) Conversions
Through Dallas ISD’s Theory of Action, Human Capital Management provides an opportunity to convert allocations to best serve the student needs of your campus. Campuses interested in this service should utilize this autonomy during the Spring Budget process.

Field Trip Transportation
With conditions in Dallas County at Level Orange, Dallas ISD will approve and facilitate transportation for campus-funded field trips as outlined in FMG (REGULATION). Accomplished and Breakthrough campuses may receive free or reduced price transportation to one field trip within the county boundaries on a district-owned bus.

Student Activities
The Student Activities Department is proud to sponsor both virtual and in-person extracurricular activities for elementary and secondary students. For the 13 programs sponsored by the department, there is no cost for students and schools to participate. Student Activities handles all logistics and costs, including registration fees, transportation, meals, incentives, coach stipends, and student study materials associated with each program.

Personal Graduation Plans
As per HB5 requirements, schools must develop Personal Graduation Plans (PGP) for at-risk students. PGPs are required for middle school students who are not performing satisfactorily on state assessment instruments or not likely to receive a high school diploma before the fifth year of high school.
All PGP forms for identified at-risk students must be completed, with student and parent signatures, and submitted to your school's counseling office by January 28, 2022.

Voter Registration Drives
In accordance with Texas state law, high school principals must offer students the chance to register to vote if they are 18 or will turn 18 that year. Dallas ISD is happy to partner with March To The Polls (MTTP) for our Fall and Spring Voter Registration Drives.
This fall we registered over 1,000 qualified students. The goal of this partnership is to not only meet the expectations of the law, but to educate and influence civic engagement. MTTP volunteers will schedule sessions with high school students during the school day as part of the spring registration drive in February 2022.
