Book Character Pumpkin Contest
Thank you to everyone who participated in our annual Book Character Pumpkin Contest! We had 126 entries, along with 27 picture entries! Our judges had a hard time selecting the winners! They loved everyone's creativity! You can view all of the entries on this video!
Trash or Treasure
PTA and the Media Center are participating in Trash or Treasure, formally called Trick or Trash. This program helps recycle candy wrappers that normally end up in the landfill at this time of year. We have 3 recycling boxes outside of the media center to collect candy wrappers. As the boxes fill, we will send them to Trick or Trash to have the materials recycled! You can learn more at https://www.rubicon.com/trash-or-treasure/.
Author Visit
On Tuesday, November 14th, Maryland author Barry Lou Polisar will visit our school to do assemblies for all grades! Students have an opportunity to purchase autographed books at a discount! You can see the attached order form or the one that came home in red folders. Please print and complete the order form and send it to the media center with a check made out to Barry Lou Polisar by Friday, November 10th. He will autograph the books and deliver them the day of his visit. Please email Mrs. Siderius, our media specialist, at jennifer.siderius@fcps.org with any questions. You can learn more about the author at https://barrylou.com/.
Thank you New Market Rotary!
The New Market Rotary Club recently supplied NMES with a class set of Cubelets! Cubelets are a modular robotics kit that allow our students to explore coding, problem solving and growth mindset! We are so grateful to the Rotary Club for helping us grow in new ways!
