Bobcat Den homework help
Oak View Students have a place, after school, to:
- Work on homework
- Get help from a teacher
- Get caught up from being absent
Bobcat Den is located in the Media center
- The Den began Monday, Oct. 24 and ends Thursday, May 25. (No Den on Jan. 19 or April 27 due to conferences)
- The Bobcat Den runs Mondays through Thursdays from 3:10 to 4:15 p.m.
- On Tuesdays and Thursdays there are activity buses students can take home - these buses usually depart by 4:30 p.m. On Mondays and Wednesdays, students will have to arrange their own transportation home (for safety reasons, students will not be allowed to linger in the building after the Den).
- The purpose of the Bobcat Den is to provide a safe, organized place for students to receive additional academic support. Students who are off-task and.or disrupt the opportunity for others will be removed from the Den and may lose the privilege of future participation.
(Students should bring all necessary materials when they report for help.)

Student grades
We encourage students and parents to closely monitor student progress throughout the year. This year, the only official grading periods will be the end of trimester reports. Directions to access gradebooks for Student and ParenetVue are outlined below. If you have questions related to login and password support, please call 763.506.HELP for assistance. If you have questions specific to grades or assignments in a particular class, please contact the teacher directly.
Halloween Reminders
Holidays provide schools the opportunity to balance maintaining a productive learning environment while acknowledging the festivity of special events. Next Monday is a regular school day at Oak View Middle School. This is a reminder that students are not allowed to wear costumes to school or bring bags of candy for distribution, as these activities cause distraction during the day. Our goal is that students have a productive school day and that they have a fun evening.
Building entrance during the school day
Before entering the building, all visitors/parents/guardians must scan in their identification (typically a driver’s license). An office assistant will then unlock the door. Classroom and lunchroom visits by parents and guardians must be prearranged with the student’s assistant principal.
Enroll in the Device Protection Plan by October 31
Families have the option to enroll in the Device Protection Plan by October 31.
The Technology Protection Plan is optional; it is not required, however, by electing not to participate in the Protection Plan, families may be required to reimburse the school district for the replacement or repair of damaged Chromebooks assigned to their student/s. Damaged or broken screens may cost between $100 to $190 depending on parts needed; or the replacement cost for the entire device could be up to $410.
Families can opt-in to the Device Protection Plan by logging into A-HConnect, and selecting "My Student Information," and "Fees." Parents must select or decline coverage under the Device Protection Plan.

Transportation
To find your student's bus information follow these step-by-step directions. Contact the transportation department at 763-506-1125 with questions.
Real-time bus information through FirstView app
Anoka-Hennepin families can check where their bus is — live — through a transportation app, called FirstView. The app monitors regular school bus routes in real-time. Best of all, it’s free for parents/guardians and students to use.
Winter weather reminders
Minnesota weather is shifting gears, and the Anoka-Hennepin School District has plans in place for when extreme winter weather arrives.
The safety of all students is the first priority when determining if schools should stay open in adverse weather. If a determination is made to close school due to extreme winter weather, the district will alert families in a variety of ways, including:
- Phone, text or email message from AHlert system (for Anoka-Hennepin parents/guardians only).
- District and school websites.
- District and school social media pages (e.g. Facebook, Instagram and Twitter).
- Media outlets including WCCO, KSTP, FOX 9, KARE 11, CCX Media, WCCO radio and Star Tribune newspaper.
Those responsible for activities scheduled in schools over the weekend will determine if adverse weather conditions necessitate a cancellation.
Read more about the district’s policies on extreme winter weather at ahschools.us/weather.
