Note from Mrs. Craft
Dear Hart Families,
Happy Friday! We have had a fantastic week of learning. This week during the STEM rotation in 4th grade, they explored with our new VexGO kits, which we purchased with some of the proceeds from our Book Fair. These kits allow students to build different creations and robots. I saw some really cool supercars and an adaptive claws which you can also see in our appreciation video below. If you have a 4th grader, be sure to ask them about their creations. I can't wait to see what our students create next.
Daddy Daughter tickets have gone on sale! Please do not panic! We have plenty of tickets for anyone who wants to attend. We just need for you to buy your tickets by the deadline so we can plan accordingly.
As you may know, January is School Board Appreciation month. We have the honor of highlighting one of our parents, Julie McLaughlin. Mrs. McLaughlin joined the board in May of 2022. She has 2 beautiful children, Lila, a 5th grader at Sloan Creek Intermediate School, and Jackson, a 2nd grader at Hart. Mrs. McLaughlin is a great advocate for all students. We appreciate all that she does for Hart Elementary and Lovejoy ISD. We created a little video to show our appreciation.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out at anytime.
All My Best,
Wendy Craft

Attendance Update
Attendance continues to be a top priority for Lovejoy ISD. It should come as no surprise that attendance has a direct relationship with student learning. Additionally, public school funding is provided by the State of Texas based on each district's average daily attendance (ADA).
Lovejoy has developed an Attendance Task Force consisting of staff, parents, and students to formulate ideas about how to positively impact ADA in our district. One suggestion is to update the community via weekly principal communication on the number of absences each campus has accrued YTD along with the budgetary impact of those absences. This information can be found below:
